ROBERTS 12" Carpet Rake is Great!
Having 7 dogs and 2 cats, I think this Carpet Rake picks up the hair better than a vacuum! It also saves my old aching back because it's lightweight and easy to use. So, for my back it's better than pulling a heavy, noisy vacuum around or carrying a vacuum from one floor to another. The hair stays trapped in the tines until you remove it, which I think is easier than taking apart the vacuum to empty the canister every few minutes. It works well on carpeted stairs too.

So far, so good!
I’ve been ready to rip my carpet up it’s so flat, matted, and ugly and it’s less than 3 years old! I ran across a video on TikTok from a professional carpet cleaner but he used a more expensive brand. After reading reviews on both I decided to give this one a shot. Worst case scenario, I was out $18. It was delivered at 8:30 pm last night but I could not wait to try it! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to use (pull it in towards yourself, don’t try to push it forward). I tested a small area that gets the highest traffic. It may be hard to tell from the pictures but it looks almost new again. There was a very small, VERY flat area in the carpet that didn’t come back up much, but I’ll take it! My only concern is the durability of the handle. It seems a bit flimsy but I will update my review as I’ve used it more and done the whole house! If it can do my entire house then it’s money well spent!

Good home owner choice not pro quality
Works great! Handle is 3 pieces not 1 solid pole as expected but so far ok I do think it will break and expected a solid shaft from pictures in description either way a decent purchase

Cool device for carpet prep
Works perfect in bringing up matted carpet in prep for shampooing or just a refreshed look! Incredible device.

Cheaply made, frustrating to use, decent results
The handle for this item which is in three pieces is very cheaply constructed and there are no instructions. The parts that are supposed to fit together are very loose and they come apart while you are working. The rake itself is pretty good although I have just been using it for about 20 minutes. It is made of hard durable (?) plastic. Overall a carpet rake is a good idea if your carpet is very old and you really want to pull out as much as you can with the vacuum.

Extremely Efficient and Easy to Use
Really gets the cat hair that buries itself in the area rugs. Simple to use, and extremely handy. Works great.

Exactly what I was looking for. I have a shag like rug and I wanted to get the nap up. Preliminarily results look promising! Wish I would’ve taken a before. Would definitely recommend to fluff up carpet in hi traffic areas!

Improves appearance and cleanliness of carpeting
This lightweight carpet rake does a good job of loosening dirt and allergens from carpeting prior to vacuuming - with one caveat. Depending on the age, condition and quality of your carpeting, you might want to use it in conjunction with a heftier rubber broom. In my experience, they work well hand in hand (using the rubber broom first, especially on any matter areas). I had old builder’s grade carpeting that was getting matted in high traffic areas, wanted to prepare the carpet for shampooing, and thought I likely had to replace the carpet soon. Given the plastic connector on this carpet rake head (and some reviews indicating durability issues), I decided to also purchase a rubber broom for carpets, and use that first. I vacuumed both before and after testing both items. It took some elbow grease to first loosen up the matted areas with a rubber carpet broom, but once it did so and I revacuumed that section, I was surprised by how much additional (formerly) ground in dirt my vacuum was able to pick up - and how much better the carpet looked and felt underfoot. I then tried out this carpet rake. It loosened up the fibers still more - and the carpet looked better still! Some carpet areas almost looked new again. :) Vacuuming the treated area a third time, my vacuum picked up more still more dirt (!) - loosened by the longer tines of this carpet rake; the carpet felt even softer underfoot - and it looked even better! It looked good again! Even before carpet shampooing, I realized that since using these two tools, my carpet doesn’t need replacing right now after all. :) I just needed the right tools to help my vacuum better do its job - which then extends the life of the carpet, and helps keep it looking better, longer. I imagine that if you have newer, thicker, better quality carpet, this carpet rake may be all you need. But if you have older, cheaper quality carpeting (mine is 25+ years old builder’s grade carpeting), you probably need both a rubber carpet broom (to help lift any matted fibers first), as well as this carpet rake (for the ‘finishing touches’). It’s sure cheaper than replacing carpet… This carpet rake is very useful during rug shampooing, too, to help separate the fibers so they dry faster and fluffier. I can’t speak to this item’s durability, since it’s nearly new and to date I have used it only a few times. It does have a plastic head and connector, so I wouldn’t press down on it too hard. But IMHO, it’s affordable, and money well spent if it helps keep carpets cleaner, extends their useful ‘lifespan,’ and helps keep them looking better longer.

I purchased this mostly for when I steam clean my rugs. Even though my rugs undergo a thorough vacuuming prior to being steam cleaned a lot of times the machine will spit out little puffs of material, almost like wet, dust bunnies. This rake is great for scraping those up and lifting the pile on the carpet so that, it dries faster. I’m very, very happy with his purchase.

I recently discovered this product when I was trying to work out a way to bring our living room carpet back to new after cleaning it. You do need to put in some physical effort but the results are brilliant and the carpet looks amazing and it feels even nicer to walk on. Loving this product.
