My degree is specialized in Quality Management.I've had several classes that revolved around lean manufacturing.This would be my favorite book of them all.This book breaks down some of the most common lean methods. So even if you're new to the subject you'll understand them after reading this.It also has steps on how to apply the methods to real world applications. So if you're a manager, or work in Quality. This book will help you apply lean to the company you work for.

Such a dry book. Good content. Very engineering oriented so lots of formulas.

As many college level textbook about nothing, it is full of "water" and repetitions.It written to fill the quota not to teach..

Implementing World Class Manufacturing, 3rd Edition is a well written “how to” manual and description of Lean Enterprise, made lucid by many wonderful illustrations and examples. This is an extremely user friendly text with lots of white space to create an easy read. Key points are accentuated by “Rules” denoted by distinctive bold, blue font. This makes them easy to remember and retrieve at a later date.I have used this manual for eight years: first to learn the mysteries of Lean; then as a guide for implementing Lean in the Engineering Departments of two companies. The second edition proved to be an excellent resource for those applications. The 3rd edition is even better and I’m using it right now to create a Lean culture in all departments of the Baker Company.

Implementing World Class Manufacturing is an excellent guide that should be available for ready access to every company aspiring for a lean continuous improving culture. I have worked with Vince Fayad for over 20 years and his knowledge of lean concepts, planning and the tools to implement is world class. It is an easy "how to" read and the tools are presented in a clear concise manner which facilitates taking them from the text to the workplace. This is a wonderful guide and tool for implementing Lean in your facility. There is a wonderful section on Problem Solving. It's filled with steps on how to use the Lean Tools.
