Hosyond 7 Inch IPS LCD Touch Screen Display Panel 1024×600

I ordered this to replace the finicky DSI display on my Raspberry Pi 5, which stops working and has to be reinstalled every time I update the OS. With this HDMI display, I just plug it in and it works. Installation is easy - literally just plug in the HDMI and USB connections and it'll work perfectly. I mounted the Pi5 to the back of the display. You will need the included brass standoffs to mount the Pi high enough to miss the HDMI port on the display. I also used the HDMI and USB adapters that were included instead of using the cables, which are also included. For the Pi5, you will need the USB adapter from the bag marked 3B and the HDMI adapter from the bag marked 4B. The USB adapter for the 4B didn't quite line up properly on mine. There were no instructions included, but it really was just plug and play for me. You can find the documentation on the Hosyond web site if you need it. Just click on the link for the "7inch HDMI Display-H" and it'll take you to the instructions. They have pre-configured images for the Raspberry Pi that you can download and burn to an SD Card, and also drivers and instructions for installing to an existing Pi OS. I literally just hooked it up and it worked, so didn't need any of the instructions or drivers from the web site. The model shown on the web site and in the documentation is slightly different - it doesn't have the speakers or speaker connections, and the brightness \ volume control is a bit different, but otherwise it's the same display. As for the speakers, they're optional, and if you decide to use them, plug them in before you glue them down. The plugs are a little finicky, and only go in one way, and it'll be easier without the speaker in the way. I installed them, and they work, but don't expect audiophile quality from them. The display is bright and crisp, and the touchscreen is fairly responsive, especially compared to the cheap DSI display it replaced. Overall, I am quite pleased with this display, and won't bother messing with DSI displays ever again.

I used this for a Linux Mint build. Just plugged it in and it worked, no setup required at all. Good picture, good touch responsiveness, easy to connect. Definitely worth the price. Very happy with this display.

The screen is fantastic! Bright, beautiful colors. I had some difficulty with installation because I missed the instructions card in the package thinking it was just marketing. Be sure to visit their website and follow the instructions for installing a driver! I experienced a lot of challenges until I figured that out. Also, I had to 3D print a housing for it, which I had planned to do anyways, but I would have preferred if they could have included at least a basic stand to get me by while I printed the housing- which admittedly took several days and multiple attempts to get the clearances and tolerances just right. There’s nothing standard about it’s dimensions. Overall, a great screen now that I have it installed and secure in a housing. I use it display KlipperScreen for my 3D printer. Honestly I might go with a 5” screen for that purpose if I were to do it again. But the screen itself is beautiful, bright, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Touch screen worked perfect with provided usb cable. Perfect screen for my small form factor media pc, using it as a fail safe if I can’t remote connect to the pc. Screen protector still attached in photo..

Works great. Perfect monitor if you need a small touch screen. Works well with my Raspberry Pi4.

Cool idea, decent image, but didnt last. Failed after a few months of occassinal use. First developed a few issues then failed completely.

Pros: * Easy setup with either a Pi3, 4 or 5 - Very clever design with the little connectors on a PCB. Very neat with no wires or long cables protruding. * Clear and crisp display on all resolutions athough 1920 x 1080 on a small screen like this is an eye chart. I have been using 1024 x 576 and 1152 x 648 for my applications. At this resolution the touch screen is very usable even with my fat fingers. * Colors are bright and saturated. Black is as expected for a modern TFT display. No issues. * Worked instantly, no driver issues, no editing config files to get working. Tested with the 2025 version of Raspberry PI 64 Bit OS. * No USB Sound Dongle needed for sound (as the sound comes over the HDMI connection). This saves a USB dongle and amplifier(s) + speaker(s) that would be needed otherwise. * Sound from included speakers is really pretty good and plenty loud. No driver issues at all. * There is a nice little combined brightness / volume control on the side. Works fine. * Multiple possible resolutions (see attached picture). * A little dimmer than the Official Raspberry Pi display and about the same brightness as the Raspberry Pi Display 2. Still plenty bright in an office environment. As good as your average office laptop. * Seems to use the same power as an official Raspberry Pi display. Cons: * Not as easy to mount as the official Raspberry Pi Display screens. * I didn't notice this at first, but this display has a blue color cast to it when placed next to the Official Raspberry Pi displays which seem to have a slightly warm color cast. Again I didn't notice this until I compared the two displays. * Display surface is reflective, but they all are - a limitation of touchscreens. Wishes: * I wish someone would make a good Acrylic bezel / mount for the screen like the Pimorni ones so panel mounting was easier. Bottom line: I would buy this again for sure. Especially if I wanted to try different resolutions.

I was given this as a Christmas gift. It’s very nice. I am able to read everything. The screen is just the right size. It’s not too big not too small.

Knapp über 40 € für ein 5 Zoll Bildschirm der innerhalb von einem Tag bei mir war. Funktioniert einwandfrei Bildhelligkeit ist zufriedenstellend und das wichtigste ist er hat einen HDMI Eingang. Alle Bildparameter lassen sich an der Seite über Knöpfe bedienen wie Sättigung Helligkeit Backlight etc.
