Fit as expected. Comfortable out of the box
Having previously mainly worn Merrell or Salomon hiking shoes/boots, I was unsure how these Mammut boots would fit. No B&M shops nearby stock them so it was a risk buying online without trying on. After searching the net and reading reviews, I decided to go a half size up (11.5 UK) as they are primarily for winter use and would be worn with 2 pairs of socks (a thin liner pair and thicker hiking socks). I was therefore worried when they arrived and I found I had been sent size 11 (my normal shoe size). However, I tried them on with 2 pairs of socks and they seemed to fit perfectly. I therefore went for a 6-mile hike and found them to be very comfortable (without breaking in) and to fit well. They also seem sturdy, despite being quite lightweight. I cannot yet comment on longevity or on how waterproof they are, but can conform they are true to size, i.e. whatever size walking footwear you normally wear, the same size should fit well. I was tempted to deduct a star as I was not sent the size I ordered, but all worked out ok in the end.

very comfortable and sturdy boots
I bought these boots a few months ahead of my trek to Everest Base camp so I could wear them in properly. These boots are light and very comfortable, I wore Merino wool socks with them and did not get a single blister during my trek. On a couple of days we trekked for over 10hours a day and my feet did not hurt at all at the end of those days. I wouldfully recommend these boots to anyone wanting to do some serious hiking/trekking.BTW I bought 1 size bigger than my normal shoe size to allow for feet swelling after long walks,

Great quality and very comfortable hikers!
Very good build quality. The materials and finish look and feel really nice. I got these to replace my Merrell mids that finally wore out. The fit was great right away. The size is true to my other shoes which was a releief as this is my first pair of Mammut Boots and I have never tried them on in shop. Took them on a couple of 5 mile hikes so far and the grip and comfort are impressive. Will take them on some longer hikes soon to really test them.

Order half a size up.
Very comfortable and good grip. Appear to be waterproof. However, order half a size up, as slightly on the smaller side.

Very comfortable, I went half size larger
If you’re thinking of buying hiking boots, these are well worth the price point. They lace up nice and tight, without putting pressure on the top of the ankle. I opted for merino socks with these and your foot stays warm and dry during a long days hike.I opted for a half size up, this gave me ample space around the toe area when going down hill. There is no contact between the toe and boot when trekking downhill. I thought the added half size would see me tripping over rocks on climbs, but that never happened and never once did I feel like they were too big.If you’re buying these boots, they do run small and I’d advise trying on both your normal size and a half size bigger.

Walking boots
Been using these for 6 months up mountains, lowland walks in rain, mud and streams. Totally happy with them and no regrets buying.

Boots split after 6 months.
The boots were very comfortable but split very quickly. After that it became impossible to trace the actual seller via Amazon website. After weeks of trying to find the warranty status of the purchase I gave up. I would never again purchase any item via the Amazon website which may need warranty car - Go direct to the manufacturer or a Store!
