Best bang for the buck!
So far I'm impressed with the function of the thermal. I've had the opportunity to use a customer of mine Flir monocular. And yes the flir has more color options. But I must say this one has a clearer screen. And for $200 less I'm taking this one every time it performs just about the same as her flir. The battery is long lasting I bought this 3 months ago and used it everyday after work and Saturdays. I only had to charge it twice. I thought I'd only use this for hunting but since receiving it I've used it on engines to see if overheating and exhaust/cylinder function. Drafts/gaps in roof/basement and leaks in duct work from my furnace. Also circulation of blood through my hands and feet lol. I've been mostly impressed by the actual distance I can see I can see clear as day cars people animals houses and airplanes(at night) through brush trees an clear line of sight from 1,000yds+. Easy to learn the operation. The flir is smaller but the weight is almost unnoticeable.

Works as described
I didn't buy to hunt so I won't talk about the mount--I originally wanted a product to view ambient light and thermal at night, but I think they are currently too expensive and bulky. Instead, "hunting" versions are available for ~$200-400, and I found I could just double-fist this thermal with another NV mono for a fraction of the price to do the same job! I purchased the smaller version, and It works well for night time indicators and warning, and can be used to identify hot/cold leaks in a house.Notes:1. It's not great for close-up views (within a few feet) but it will provide the function. I was able to watch hard boiled eggs cool down while exposing them to tap water standing over the sink, but it wasn't ideal.2. I would not do well walking or driving with it. To get an entire door in the view frame, I had to stand about 6-7 m (~20 ft) away. I bought a small phone-mounted Flir and it works the opposite--finds everything well within ~3 meters (15 ft) and while it showed temperatures, the tradeoff was distance. As an example, if I pulled my car over at night to pee in the dark, using a phone's thermal I wouldn't be able to see very well any large animals/lurkers that were beyond ~20 feet, but the Teslong has that potential (see #3).3. It's perfect to test thermal's range/limitations (it can't see through insulators like glass, thicker foliage, water), nor does it provide the target or ambient temperatures.4. The device can be accidentally powered on inside the carrying case if not handled with egg-ceptional care (including the laser).5. The display is bright and will destroy night vision in whichever eye is used.6. Strong laser.7. The lens cover needs TLC to fit snugly.8. It does everything it says it will do and I'm satisfied with it for the price I paid when it was on sale.9. Retired military perspective: If I were to hunt professionally, I would invest appropriately in professional equipment and leave this product to recreation.

The best night optics i have used
This has a long battery life ( charged it once a year ago). I can spot a bird in a tree at 100 yards in pitch black. I have found downed deer in the swamp . No regrets buying this, would buy again if this breaks which I doubt it will.

Short distance
Product is not good for maybe 50 yards. Anything after that it’s not very clear

Not bad for the price.
I was looking for a thermal and since this one has good reviews I gave it a chance. You can make out heat signatures up to 200 meters. I camp a lot and if I hear a noise this thermal will come out. When camping you want to make sure you’re alone this is how you do it!
