I recently purchased the Bonsaii 6 Sheet P-4 Micro Cut Shredder C261-D for my home office, and I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed. I used this once when I bought it in June. Went to use it again to shred some confidential documents and no power. Checked the fuse which was fine. Out of return window so contacted manufacturer via their website contact form. Their reply went into my spam folder but they did respond and it turns out that the shredder head has a safety switch that is engaged when correctly seated on the base. Basically a raised up piece of plastic on the edge slips between a connector and disengages the safety cut out Good customer service

Only had it a few days but used it for the first time today. I had probably 100+ pages, envelopes etc to shred and I managed to do this without it needing to cool down. It says the continual run time is 4mins before a 45min cool down is needed but I was doing some letters and then switching off or letting it auto turn off a few seconds later to give it a few seconds cool down whilst I separated letters as to not put too many in at one go, and it copes with it fine. It also managed with 3 old debit cards too. I was a bit worried that it would take hours to complete tasks where I have built up old paperwork but this handles it great and is simple to use. I’d recommend it if you have the odd spring clean large job now and then as well as general usage. If you for example had a business with many employees that needed to shred often, this probably isn’t the one for you. Pleasantly surprised….so far!

Before first time usage, I highly recommend to use one lubricant sheet. If you do not use these lubricant sheets the shredder may break and not function properly. The shredder does what it is supposed to do. Shreds paper. However, the ad claims that it can do 6 sheets at a time, but I found it that maximum of 3 sheets at a time is all it can do. I have tried to shred 6 sheets at one time, and it struggles. Also, one folded page will count as shredding two pages. After continuoususage, the red light comes on, meaning that needs to cool down for around 40 minutes. All in all, a decent product for shredding confidential information on paper. UPDATE: The shredder does not work anymore. I plugged it in, put the dial on FWD and it was making very loud noises without the blades moving. After a few attempts to clean it with an air duster, plugged it in back again and the motor blew up by making a big electrical shock inside the shredder. Really not safe. I suggest to used it during the 30 day return window as if it breaks down, you have the possibility to return the shredder without any hassle.

It isn't the most expensive. It isn't the best quality of build. It isn't the fastest and it certainly isn't the quietest! But, if you want to be confident that no one will ever be able to extract information from your shredded documents? Then this is what you want! The pieces are tiny. Smaller than a one by one lego brick! The paper collection box has a window to keep track of how much is in it. Both the box and the window aren't the greatest quality of plastic and the window on mine doesn't fit flush. But in all honesty, who cares. It fits and doesn't fall off. If it starts to bother me I'll glue it down. It's less than £40 for complete peace of mind knowing that what goes in isn't ever going to be of use to anyone. Only had it for a day so can't comment on longevity, but it has a guarantee so will just have to see how it goes. The paper feed slot isn't very wide so limiting to how much you can put in at once. But if this is important to you then simply look for a shredder which takes more in one go. As a plus, it also means that no child will be able to get their fingers in there if this is a concern for you. It accepts credit cards, paper clips and staples. Because of the steady speed and limited paper amount per run I'd say this item is suited more to a household rather than a business. But if these things aren't priority to you I highly recommend it. If you want more peace of mind than this..... then I recommend you just 'burn' your unwanted documents.
