very genuine
I saw another reviewer say this is a New Age book. That is simply a label, pejorative sometimes, the origin of which came from a book written in 1868, not exactly new in my book. This book is simply a story told by a man who went through some interesting experiences. OK, it doesn't have much of a Christian perspective. Christians can't stand it when people have NDE's and don't come back with precisely the message they want them to have. Perhaps Dannion would tell some of those people, go out and have your own NDE's. Dr. Raymond Moody studied over 2,000 NDE's. Yes, for Christians, Jesus showed up. For others, he apparently didn't. And this proves...? I don't know. Ritchie's book is interesting- though he shoehorns it into a very Christian mold. Those that meet the party line apparently includeย 90 Minutes in Heaven: A True Story of Death & LifeHeaven is for Real for Kids: A Little Boy's Astounding Story of His Trip to Heaven and Back . The skeptics make some very convincing arguments, which unfortunately fall short. There is an old story about a student who went home on holiday to speak to his Rabbi, and told him he was very confused, he could prove anything didn't exist. The Rabbi said, "Can you prove your nose doesn't exist?" The student said of course, and began a reasoned proof. The Rabbi punched him in the nose, and said, "What hurts?". I would suggest reading about 5 books in the NDE range, Christian and not so Christian, including say Kenneth Ring's book, and then making your own decision. This book is at least very inspiring. I have seen a very few Christians who were on fire with spiritual awareness, but not many, most seem to prefer to live in fear. This is not inspiring. I don't like to limit the books I read to any one group of authors. The Hawaiians were at least humble enough to say that all truth is not in your school, i.e. everybody has parts of the truth. The people who attack Dannion's books are very much like the five blind men of Hindustan, analyzing the elephant. One felt the tail, and said the elephant was like a rope. ANother felt the leg, and said the elephant was like a pillar. Another felt the ear, and said the elephant was like a palm leave. Another felt the tusk, and determined the elephant was like a spear. Another felt the side, and said the elephant was like a wall. Another felt the trunk, and said it was like a snake. Who was right? Each was absolutely sure their experience was absolutely true. It is interesting to note that ancient Egyptians clearly had a ritual around the NDE, as shown in the Book of the Dead, which would be better translated as Book of the Great Awakening. A candidate spent 3 days in the crypt, in the Great Pyramid, in an intentionally induced NDE, and was then reborn. This is useful, because Hebrew ideas came from Egypt- Moses was, after all, trained in this- and from Hebrew ideas grew Christian ideas. Oriental martial artists know that direct transmission loses some of the original, and about every 10 generations teachers have to go back and get a direct download, again. This is humble. I wish modern-day Christians would spend 40 days in a wilderness, and fast, and tithe, and follow the other practices so clearly laid out, as they would be more humble, and might accept an account by someone who "passed the veil" and was able to come back and tell about it, instead of dismissing it because it didn't fit their pre conceived notions. This book is very inspiring. I found it at the public library. One does not need to be religious to appreciate this book. For those who are religious, this book could be very interesting. I had to read it all the way through, at one sitting. It is better than several other NDE books I've read.

Good, solid, valid information about what an NDE is like and what it tells us about how we need to direct our livesโtowards love
I just reread this book. For some reason, when I first read it, it didn't mean as much to me as other NDE books. I grabbed it as I walked by the bookcase yesterday and plunged in. I found Dannion Brinkley to be an honest, compassionate, motivated, and convincing person. I believed what he says about his inner changesโand it's been many years now since the experience and he could have simply slid out of sight or gone back to his violent ways. I have been finding that the study of NDEs, which I have been about for the last 8 years, has had an effect on me like what one might expect from going to church every day. Why isn't everybody behind learning more about this? With the collapse of universal religious belief, we need something that gives us encouragement and information about how to live. Love, help people feel good, give, and care. Isn't that what Jesus taught? Dannion Brinkley's NDE possessed what I now look for as validity in an paranormal experience: brilliance of light and color, incredible beauty in all surroundings including music, and the honoring of love and wisdom. But most of all, the brilliance and intensity of light and color. And the last and most important featureโit is life-changing and is never forgotten.I felt Dannion Brinkley was comforting me, confiding in me, he is humble and faithful and compassionate. In spite of the complexity of his experience, and the jobs he was given by the Beings of Light, he does not set himself about anyone else. It has been a joy to re-read this bookโand a surprise that this time I liked it. One thing I really appreciated was a chance to get to know Raymond Moody better. When I first read the book, I didn't really care about the man. Now Iโฆwell, I love him!! I am so grateful to him (Moody) for bringing the NDE into the light!

An unique book for anyone interested in "near-Death" experiences. I found it to be an entertaining book.
The older one gets the more a person becomes award of their own mortality. I recently purchased this interesting 162 page hardcover book (Saved by the light by Dannion Brinkley with Paul Perry) for a bargain price on Amazon. This is supposed to be a true story of a man who died not once, but twice and the experiences he had while he was assumed to be dead. This fascinating page turner is organized into 15 short chapters and covers the following material: The first time I died, the tunnel to eternity, heโs dead, the crystal city, the boxes of knowledge, coming back, at home, a saving grace, a new lease on life, my own kind, special powers, rebuilding, heart failure, the second time I died and to be continued. This was a well written and interesting book and anyone interested the Near-Death experiences may want to check out this volume.Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Tactical Principles of the most effective combative systems).

Molto bello
Una NDE unica e autentica, provata dall esattezza delle profezie e la guarigione miracolosa, che spesso avviene assieme alla NDE.

A beautiful message from a fading beacon of hope
Dannion doesn't have long left in this 3D holographic experience we call "real life". Having watched his recent videos online with David Wilcock and read his book, I can honestly say that this world will be in detriment without his message being understood and accepted. Dannion admits his youthful misgivings and takes the "afterlife" experience on the chin beautifully to become a messenger of hope that there is more to life than our physical form. A fairly short but very fulfilling book which I can't recommend enough. Live your life in service to others and watch the world become a beautiful place. There is nothing to fear but the illusion of fear itself people xx

It finished too fast!
I liked this book because it was enthusiastically written. I could feel the excitement at sharing this story with the readers, from start to finish.I didn't like that it ended so quickly... I was so captivated that I turned the last page and completely deflated seeing the end...thank goodness another has been written ๐๐

saved by the light
I think this is a very important book for us all to read, because it explains how we have to live in order to find inner peace here and now and also peace in eternity. It gives us very clear paths to follow and is down-to-earth while at the same time half in heaven.
