Extra sweet
I’m huge fan of the way the characters develop in this book. I also sincerely appreciate the way the characters who were main in previous books in the series continue to move forward instead of vanishing as the series continues.I strongly recommend reading this series in order. I will be finishing it and will continue to read whatever is available by April Wilson.

Inspirational
What a book. Everyone has baggage. Some of us put it behind a door and lock it tight so it can't get out but it seems to seep through regardless. What a wonderful book.

Great read!
Can’t wait to see which McIntire family member is the next focus!Maybe a little unrealistic at times, but it’s entertaining, and the characters are filled out well.

Romance, suspense, dark comedy
I am in love with April Wilson's books! I admit I was skeptical when I purchased vulnerable, book 1. I thought it may be cheesy however, I am now addicted to her books. After book 2, fearless I was sad because Shane and Beth were the perfect couple and i will miss them terribly :-( Their story is so intense and the love they shared was what every woman dreams about. When I began book 3, Broken, starring Lia Mcintyre I immediately loved it! Lia's character has the traits i am envious of. I always wanted to learn self defense and I am definitely strong as far as working out--BUT She is bad a$$ , funny, and her sense of humor is compatible to mine. Her battles she had to deal with and relating to that "broken" feeling and undeserving of happiness...that I truly understand. I lived it. So, I have come to realize-these stories are not only about one couple..its an entire family ! I come from a large family myself and we are all beautiful and unique in our own ways.. I will keep on reading April WIlson's book..truly talented woman to be able to write these detailed, passionate stories.. I am about to begin Shattered book 4!!! I will keep you posted !Mandy

Broken
I loved this book. The main story rings true for so many performers. Everyone wants more money for themselves. I enjoyed the love story as always. Please keep writing!

I absolutely loved Lia's story! We see her strong side but we also see her vulnerable side.. She and Jonah are perfect for each other!

Different
The heroine is an alpha female, the hero more gentle. Even though Jonah is gentle, he's more than willing to stand up for Lia.... that alone, makes him an alpha in my book! So much tenderness. Up next is Shattered.

Good
I was happy to Lila’s story. I loved her in the first two books and she deserved her own.I liked that Shane and Beth made an appearance.Really the only thing I missed was 2 POV. The first two books had it but this one did not. I liked Lila’s POV but would have liked to see something from Jonah’s POV. He made a lot of choices and to see how he thought would have been nice. To see his responses to what Lila said and did would have been cool. I felt like he had more of a back story we did not get to see.I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Missed the Mark
*spoilers ahead*I’m honestly a little disappointed in this book. I’m currently going through and reading the stories of this series that I missed and this is one of them.I felt like the plot was incredibly rushed with barely any buildup at all. You’re introduced to Lia who is the youngest MacIntyre with a twin. Lia was taken advantage of by her first boyfriend years ago and has a hard time trusting men after her ex released a tape of them having sex online. She chooses to chase her problems away with alcohol and tries to have this tough girl image that I didn’t really buy at all. Then you have Jonah who is this rockstar who moves to Chicago briefly to work on new music. His band manager is trying to pressure him to take a new record deal and his trying to force him back with his ex who comes to town at the suggestion of the band manager Dwight. Lia is hired on to be his personal bodyguard. There’s slight OW drama but it’s your typical Ow drama in that Jonah is saying no and the ex is showing up scantily dressed and is verbally attacking Lia left and right. But nothing really happens. There’s not much build up to the relationship that ends up happening between Lia and Jonah. The chemistry between them fell flat a lot and the story feels like it was rushed through. The writing style is different than the style of April’s first two books of this series. I don’t really peg Lia as this broken individual that April tries to paint her as.It was a struggle for me to finish the book but I was determined to.

Masterful
I Voluntarily Reviewed A Complimentary Copy Of This BookThe third novel from April Wilson is a fantastic read that that will grip you from start to finish.Lia McIntyre is such a great leading female, the way April tells us what happened to Lia to make her the person she is was written in a way that you feel the emotion and frustration as if you were there. Jonah for me was one of those leading males who you love almost from the start, loved that he knew what he wanted and set out to make it happen. The way April writes is brilliant and works so well, with each book April grows as a writer and I’m looking forward to what comes next. Although this book can be read as a stand alone I would recommend that you read Vulnerable and Fearless first that way you know better who some of the characters are that get mentioned.

Latest edition to a strong new series
I will start off by saying yes I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. However I had previously brought the first two in this series and was very excited to read this. It did not disappoint and I was so gripped I read the entire book in one day. I would recommend this book to all those romance novel fans particularly those who enjoy a series with siblings, similar to JS Scott's "Sinclair" series.I love the range of characters Wilson has created and the lovely and feisty Lia being the alpha bodyguard in this book is a delightful twist on the "bodyguard romance" tale. If you want the more traditional take then I strongly recommend books 1 and 2 for Shane and Beth's story. However Lia and Jonah's story is beautiful and I really fell in love with them both. The only slight criticism I might say is that unlike the previous books there is a little less suspense or threat which made it a little lacking for me. Not wanting to constantly compare to the previous books but it is a slight gear change from Shane and Beth's story which was so intense and dangerous. Lia and Jonah seem to be more about the emotional scars they both carry but don't let me put you off Lia can kick some serious ass and one of my favourite scenes is early on in the book when she breaks in (literally) some new recruits to the firm. Lets just say Jonah is impressed.I recommend this standalone novel to anyone and put in a silent plea to the author for me...particularly looking forward to Jamie's story. (Please say you are doing Jamie's story).
