TOTODrake 1.6 GPF Toilet Tank with WASHLET+ Auto Flush Compatibility, Cotton White - ST776SA#01

I have had to order this tank 5 times now as the tank has been broken on the prior 4 orders. The first two times I ordered the whole toilet with the bowl and the tank. With the first order, I installed the bowl and then noticed the tank was obviously broken. So because Amazon wouldn't let me just replace the tank I had to reorder the set. When it came in everything looked good so I just took the new tank and installed it. Two hours later and still fighting a water leak, I noticed a hairline crack in the tank. They still wouldn't let me replace just the tank so I did a new order of just the tank. This time it again was obviously broken so I reordered just the tank. The fourth tank was crushed so again I reordered it. Now I have to wait till the middle of march for another tank. In between the second and third broken tanks, I replaced the old toilet as it was fully functional. I only replaced it as I love the Toto drake toilet, this is the 5th one I've purchased in 30 years.Now it has become a challenge to see how many tanks I have to order before they get me a good one and I can reinstall it and not have to plunge my current one every other day.The fault I'm sure is not with Amazon but more than likely with the shipping company. I just wish someone would step in and get me an unbroken tank.

After several purchases, returns, refunds, I finally learned my lesson and bought new, not "like new" from Amazon Warehouse. These like new tanks were all shipped without the original protective foam packaging...so they all arrived in pieces. Brand new in the box comes well packed with foam corners so it doesnt get broken when tossed around. 3 stars for great quality product when it is new, minus 2 stars for Amazon doing a poor job repackaging them. PITA to take back to UPS to return a shattered, heavy product.

Replacement tank for a discontinued model. Connecting water line had to be modified slightly to attach to new replacement tank. All went well and it works perfectly.

I have previous version of drake, C744+ST743S, which I bought 5 years ago but only installed today, then found on hole of the tank is uneven thus leaking even with a compress rubber ring. unfortunately TOTO discontinued the previous version, the leap time to get the ST743S tank is almost 2 months! I read from a online forum this can work with C744 bowl so decided to give it a try, even TOTO said it is not compatible. it worked! just the water inlet is too close to the bowl, so I had to cut the water pipe handle to make it slim enough to fit in. fortunately, the problem is finally fixed so I don't need to buy a whole new set.

My older Drake 1.6gpf tank cracked. I got this new version Drake tank from my local Toto dealer that claimed this tank will fit my C744 bowl. Had the same problem as another buyer who shaved down the plastic water connector. Good idea! This new version tank is narrower than old version and fill valve very close to the old tank flange. Luckily I had a Toto bidet that had a metal tee connector and able to thread on to the fill valve with 1mm clearance from the flange. Be careful tightening the tank bolts to the tank. Hand tighten nuts then half turn with wrench. I just snugged 1/8 turn instead of 1/2 turn. I thought of notching the bowl flange with a diamond milling bit but didn’t want to take a chance of cracking the flange if I didn’t have to. All is good so far and toilet works almost good as new 🤞🏼. Love the new tower drain valve design in this new Drake compared to my ancient flapper design drain valve. However my old C744 bowl doesn’t have the new Tornado 🌪️ flush like the new version Drake C776 bowl. Perhaps I’ll upgrade the bowl down the road. Happy flushing 💦 🚽 💩!
