I was using this and Ashwaganda for cortisol control. I found it reduced my levels too much, making me The Walking Dead. I do find it effective for short, stressful, periods to reduce angst, since I don’t otherwise need to be on Valium.Unlike the Valium-type of meds, this or Ashwaganda is subtle and not really an on-off sensation as a prescription drug works. Stress just eases off over the hours in a more homeopathic sort of way.If you have more serious symptoms, I’d suggest getting professional help and avoid self-medicating with this stuff. I have tried various brands of ashwagandha and they all have had a noticeable and similar effect, however this brand didn't seem to do anything, even when i would take 3 capsules at a time, leading me to believe this was something else. I also noticed the smell was kind of weird and sweet, and I've smelled bulk ashwagandha before, and it didn't smell similar. I'm now trying the KSM-66 from Jarrow and definitely notice an effect from just one of their 300mg capsule. I took 1,800mg of this nutricost stuff and felt nothing, not sure what happened maybe it was just mine, I've had other supplements from nutricost that seemed to be fine though, so kind of weird!

After around a month and a week of taking this my anxiety GREATLY reduced.
