Poetry book with illustrations Penny For My Thoughts Paperback – 14 April 2022

I never thought that I'd ever enjoy poetry but this book has definitely changed views.The book has numerous poems written by Sheryl Madan along with mesmerizing illustrations by Nitya Gulati.I especially loved when the poet wrote "Everything that you wish to read" on the contents page.The book, as a whole, sheds light on many issues like anxiety, depression, body dismorphia, self harm, heartbreak, periods,social stigma and many more. Each peom is filled with meaning and has a lot of depth.I would suggest this book to anyone who enjoys philosophical ideas and social issues.Ps. I would suggest to take a look that the trigger warnings mentioned before the poems as that could be a sensitive subject for some readers. Take care of yourself. 🤍

I am a sucker for poetry books. This book simply amazed me.The very first thing that appealed to me is that every poem has a story to tell and has a broader deeper meaning.I loved the way how the author included so many psychological issues in the book. And the illustrations in every poem are breathtaking. They enhance the beauty of each poem.My favourite poem from the book is "Love is Home".

Sheryl Madan's poetry collection Penny for Thoughts is a collection of poems. It includes original poems on a variety of topics. It's a good read because of the supporting illustrations."It's only blood," one of the works, is applicable to any young girl turning into maturity in our society. It is my favourite since the words selected are profound and real. There were a few more as well.

I don't read poetry often but the cover is so beautifully designed that it lured me to dive deeper into the book. The poet has touched a myriad of themes and has expressed a plethora of emotions through this book. Each poem is studded with emotions and harbours considerable depth. The beautiful illustrations have enhanced the charm of the book manifold.I don't have a personal favourite poem but overall I enjoyed reading this book.

A beautiful illumination of the bright harmony of soothing poetic impressions with an elegant pictorial representation in between. Interestingly author sculpted the remarkable episodes of girl existence in poetic tune. Overall, it seems like an outburst of feelings in a lyrical theme illustrates the subtle aspects.

Looking into your eyes was like looking into a book reading stories to you.It's a treasure box containing all emotions, from having to love someone to missing someone, from the darkest nights to the brightest days.Every poem here tells a story that one might have gone through. This is an effort to connect with the readers encouraging them to fight saying that they are not alone in this long run.The illustrative painting plays a different role in dragging your attention expressing a deep meaning.The language is very lucid and the flow of the lines will connect you to the story.Must read !!!I have attached one of my favorite poem here.
