Bonsai Boy's B Drainage Hole Covers

These do exactly what they say they will do, although I need to learn to read product pages better. I thought these would be metal, but it does state on the page that they are not. I suppose it's probably better it isn't metal so it doesn't corrode, so I'm ok with that. The issue I have is that I wish they were cut more precisely. The edges are not straight, making alignment an issue if the hole you're trying to cover is on the larger side. You really have to be careful not to move them with dirt. I realize it says "approximately" for the size on the description, but I do wish the edges were straight even if it's not exactly 1" in size! The price is high enough to justify straight edges, in my opinion. I think I could buy a roll of screen material and cut them more precisely myself, and that's exactly what I'll do next time.

These are pretty much what they seem... small 1 inch by 1 linch squares of material that is the same as a screen you might have covering any window at home. It does appear there is a coating on the material to help keep it from aging quickly from mineral damage, an unstoppable process in water draining.There were 12 squares the bag I received. They are simple to use, place the screen over the hole in the bottom of your pot (I used 2 in a cross cut pattern to lessen the amount of soil drainage), then slowly place soil, rock pebbles or sand over the area to hold the screens in place.These work very well. I recommend these screens for any planting pot project around the house. The only side item is to please note the size of the screens. They may not work with pots that may have larger drainage holes.

You get what is advertised. But appears overpriced. You can buy larger sheets of the material and cut into pieces of required size--and get a lot more pieces for about the same cost. You are paying for the convenience--but if you need many pieces each year, look at alternatives.

There is not a lot to say about drainage hole covers. They don't rate as something to swoon over. They do a specific job. The only thing I found as a flaw was the price of the item.

Exactly what it says it is. Not sure whether it is metal (rusts or deteriorates) or fiberglass (last forever). Covers the holds in the pots exactly like it is supposed to.
