Excellent initiative.
Excellent initiative for children. But still, also sets a great example for children, too.

A great teaching tool for parents presented in a children's story
I just read this story to my nearly 7 year old and we both really liked it. The suggested mindfulness tools are subtly interwoven in the cleverly rhyming text set in bright and colourful illustrations. I love how the Dad supports and guides his son in discovering the important life skill of mindfulness. I use mindfulness for myself in my parenting and with my children. I highly recommend learning a few basic skills such as the ones mentioned in this story.

A lovely little book to help teach children how to make themselves calm
Nick is sad and has lots on his mind but his loving father helps teach him to be calm. I love how the author explains breathing in as if smelling the scent of a flower then breathing out as if blowing out a candle.Bright. Colourful rhyming read.

Teaching children to deal with anxiety
I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from the author. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.I have read a few of Elizabeth Cole’s books, so I was pretty sure that this would be another great children’s book.Nick is quiet and brooding. When his dad asks him what’s wrong, he says he didn’t do well on his history test, and he’s worried about a couple of things taking place soon. His dad tells him that there’s nothing you can do about the past and that you should deal with the future when it happens. It’s important to live in the here and now. This story is told in rhymes and the illustrations are cute and colorful. It encourages children to use their imaginations as well as teaching them ways to stop worrying such as deep breathing and exercise. I liked the exercise Nick’s dad chose because it made exercising fun.

Mindfulness is great!!
This is Elizabeth Cole’s third book I have read and thoroughly enjoyed. I’m always impressed with the illustration works, from characters to scenes, everything is splendid. The author has an amazing art of storytelling. I like her voice. She shares her incredible knowledge through her storybooks, through her engaging and interesting characters and gorgeous illustrations, all in a very simple and subtle way.Alone, Nick was sitting on the ground in the park, while lots of adventures and funs were happening around him. He was missing everything. He was feeling extremely low! Something was terribly wrong? Then his father played a vital role to make him feel lively and happy. Parents are good and parents are bad. Nick was so lucky to have a caring and loving father. He taught Nick the concept of mindfulness and how it could treat anxiety issues. Mindfulness is like meditation because it is a mental training practice that teaches to slow down racing thoughts, let go off negativity, and calm both mind and body. Mindfulness is something we all naturally possess. Nick soon learned that he should not be worried about the things that haven’t happened yet. H had already missed all the nice moments. He was given some great mantra of how to enjoy the present moments and how to get rid of troubling thoughts. Nick practiced everything as his dad asked him to, using all the five senses. He enjoyed the nature like he had never seen it before. He had every fun he could. He also developed attitudes for helping people. He had become a smart boy now! He had gained lots of good memories and the present was the place Nick had decided to live.I loved the story. Anxiety and negatives thoughts often struck children. Parents are the first mentor who help their children come out of negative thoughts. The personality of children might change forever if they are left with their issues for a long period of time. I would highly recommend because the story is relatable. The message behind the book is remarkable. I’m looking forward to the author’s new book!

A good children’s book about mindfulness
This is an engaging book for children to learn to be present in the moment.Nick is the main character. His father helps him learn tools to be present during his day.Nick is a worrier. He doesn’t enjoy his surroundings. He misses what is happening like seeing a rainbow at the park. His dad introduces the power of his breath, moving around physically, becoming aware of his senses and being aware at home with his family what is going on around him. This book is written in rhyming sentences & illustrated colorfully following along with the narrative.I highly recommend this book!!
