The gt-2000 4 is the core runner’s bread and butter with its balance of cushioning and stability, outfitted by the comfortably supportive dynamic duomax and guidance trusstic system that also enhance gait efficiency. Our rear foot and forefoot gel cushioning systems are now even more adaptive, assisting mild to moderate over pronators alike with greater support, while the fluid ride midsole offers the ultimate ride. In 1949, Mr. Kihachiro Onitsuka began his athletic footwear company (Onitsuka Co., Ltd.) by manufacturing basketball shoes out of his living room in Kobe, Japan. He chose the name ASICS for his company in 1977, based on a famous Latin phrase "Anima Sana In Corpore Sano," which, when translated, expresses the ancient ideal of "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." Taking the acronym of this phrase, ASICS was founded on the belief that the best way to create a healthy and happy lifestyle is to promote total health and fitness. Today, ASICS offers a full line of performance-driven athletic shoes and technical active sports apparel and accessories dedicated to bringing harmony to the body and soul.

Buy running shoes direct from the running company!!!!!!!
Nope. Folks, be very careful when purchasing running shoes from online retailers other than direct from the running company that makes them.I have been running in Asics for over 15 years, and was in need of two new pairs to replace my old 2000 4s. These were supposed to be exactly the same model. This is what I found: I ordered my first pair - size 8 normal width, what I usually wear in running shoes. I am a 7.5 size regular shoe, but you always should size up 1/2 size from your normal size in athletic shoes to allow for the swelling of the feet during exercise.Got my first pair of these. They looked legit, so I ordered another pair to have on the way. I had not tested these out yet. My mistake. I compared them, size wise, to my shot 2000 4s, and found that they areexactly the same width/length as my old 2000 4s. Pics are attached. My shot orange shoes are on the left, the new gray/blue on the right. Same size. So if you are wondering if these run small. No they do not, if you are replacing the same model. If you are comparing them to old/newer models, there probably are discrepancies. Asics is known to changing things every year. However, thats not what went wrong for me. I only had these for not even a week, and tried about 3 runs/walks in my new pair. Every single time, post run, my right foot was in such bad pain that I'd have to completely stay off my foot for the next day. Even walking hurt. Then, I'd try again. Every time, I'd take my right shoe off, and my foot was so messed up. The only way I can describe it is that it was like the right shoe was off kilter and it felt like I had been running at an angle on that foot for the duration where my foot wanted to step down on the outer edge of my foot. It was completely messing up my gait, and my whole foot would be in such pain that I couldnt even walk flat footed on that right foot for the rest of the day.I got my second pair that I ordered--- same exact shoe -- and pulled out the right shoe from the new box and put it next to the new right shoe I had been trying to run in with such problems. Pic is included. After taking pics and staring at both right shoes, I noticed that the one that was giving me issues was noticably shorter; the grey band that came around the back was lower than the other new rt foot pair, and the heel part (rbber) didnt come up as high as the other shoe. The new right shoe is on the left, the bad right one that was giving me such issues is on the right. If you look closely, you will see across how the left sits higher and the patterns dont match across. I knew that something in the shoe I was wearing hadnt been right, and now I could see it. Either the heel drop was lower, uneven, or something. But I wasnt imagining it.I wrapped up both new pairs, and returnedthem straight back to Amazon. I purchased them on Amazon via shoecity. They should be identical, but they were not. The pain from the bad shoe was enough that I almost thought I was getting a running injury. I will not buy running shoes from unknown vendors anymore, please stick with direct purchases from Asics/Brooks etc... so that you know you aregetting an authentic shoe or you can contact the company and they can assist since they know their own running shoes. Never again.

My Shoes for ten years
I've worn these exact shoes for about 10 years. From my years as a competitive runner to now a dog walker, and I walk 10-15miles a day, and run only 2-3. I've tried trendy shoes and realized that was a big mistake. I've worn the more recent models but I go through shoes so quickly I get these for the price cut. I wear a half size bigger, as you should for a running shoe. I have a high arch, I run heel-to-toe, and have a fairly narrow foot. In my opinion, these are great shoes for heel-to-toe runners. Great for ankle pronation as well. There's more space around the toe area which I prefer. All shoes are different for different types of runners, but if you have similar form to me I highly recommend these.

Cute but small
Replaced my nikes with these! Great for heel support and helps with my overpronation. One complaint is that these GTs are very tight on my toes! The toe box seems way shorter than it should be! I'm usually always an 8, but now I think an 8.5 would have suited me better...

Awesome shoe
These are great shoes. They seem to fit as expected. I should have ordered the wider shoe, but that is my fault. The GT-2000 are a great shoe if you over pronate. They have also helped with support for my plantar fasciitis issue. I do recommend trying these shoes if you have those two problems. But, if you can I seriously recommend going to a shoe store that will fit you correctly, not just size, but also where they will watch you walk with shoes on and off. These people are trained to help fit shoes correctly. There are so many shoe stores that are cheap, but they do not fit shoes to the person. Take the time to get correctly fitted, then go online and find the shoe that worked for you.

Prior Asics GT-2000 design superior to newest 2017 update
This shoe is by far the best fit of any shoe I have owned. It is tried and true to the traditional ASICS GT-2000 model that I have had for years and that has worked for my feet. The design is excellent. Shoe is supportive, but not too rigid. Has a wider width in the front part of the footbed, across the wider part of my foot, but still narrow and form fitting in the heel. I have relatively narrow foot, except for the width across the front part of my foot, where the bones stick out. The shoe does not have any plastic stripes or insignia on the front part of the shoe where the toes are located, so it does not rub on the top of my foot like the newer update of the 2017 GT-2000. I am so sad they changed the design of this shoe going forward, but am thankful I could find and order the prior model. I may even order a spare pair in case ASICS does not go back to this design as the new version does not fit my foot at all which is disappointing.

I Love Ascis but I wish it fit like the other versions :(
4 stars because I love Asics. but the 2000-4 just didn't work for me this time. I have been wearing a version of this shoe for over 20 years but finally there is one that just isn't working well for me. I am sad about this as this is my go to shoe and now I need to find a new one. I usually wear the medium width but that didn't work so I tried the wide. The width was find but I found unfortunately the entire shoe is just different. Maybe it's my foot but my foot hasn't changed that much. As they continue to come out with new versions I will try it again and hopefully Asics will get it back to "awesome". Fingers crossed!

Poor Design and Quality
For all athletic shoes, I always buy 2 sizes up from my regular shoes, so 10 fit me great. The problem is the change in design and perhaps quality. For over 100 bucks, I expect my shoes to last more than 6 weeks. These shoes had holes where my big toe and pinky toe are on both shoes within a month and a half. The problem is with the redesign of this series, the toe box is almost all mesh, so it wears down rapidly and holes form. I was pretty irritated to be honest; I've bought Asics for years and have come to expect better from this company. Right now I am sticking to Salomon and will consider buying another pair of Asics when they change this idiotic design. Comfort= 5 stars

These trainer sizes come up a size too small
Have bought Asics shoes before and really love them but these are a size too small. With import duties and return costs this is an expensive mistake to make. Order 1 size bigger than your UK shoe size.

Perfect
Love my new shoes. Just as described. I have fallen arches . They have good support and the laces are perfect. I hate it when the laces are so long they hang down to the ground or you have to tie the loop to keep them up. I like the colour, a stylish black with attractive accents. I don't like those gaudy colours. Perfect fit. Would definitely buy again..

Great running shoes!
I own a pair from before and I absolutely loves these! I have narrow feet and heals and believe me, finding a pair of runners that accommodate my feet and provide support is not easy. I highly recommend these if you have similar feet to mine.
