Better safe than sorry.
I bought this because we needed to change the battery on a MK8 Honda Civic TypeS.It’s debatable that the car actually needed this battery backup while we changed the main battery - but it was the case that all the radio and alarm settings were in tact after the new battery was fitted.In essence I thought it was probably cheaper to buy this for a few pounds than run the risk of losing the setup data off the car and then trying to sort that out afterwards.Had I still had my Audi A6 I would definitely have needed it.
