Laminated Cuba Map by Borch (English Edition)

I generally prefer something that has a smaller 'footprint' in hand, but I could not find anything such as the Knopf series of city maps for Copenhagen (even though this series is a reissue from a French series). Due to this, I have used this map. It is easy to read and is waterproof, which certainly is some help. The trade off is that while it weathers better in wind and rain and is more durable, it is also harder to fold other than in its pre-folded state and is harder to control without some supporting table on which one could place it. I have seen reviews of maps in this series noting that the maps are hard to read. Provided one can keep the map steady, there is no problem. The lack of annotations concerning details concerning sites of interest and eating places compared to the Knopf series works is somewhat missed.For travelling by foot, bike, car or rapid transit, this work is fine.

I've always enjoyed having a map of countries I'm touring. In the past I haven't liked the laminated maps because I couldn't write on them. However, I've discovered that I can use black permanent ink markers on them. Before the tour begins I've circled the towns we'll be staying in overnight and underlined towns we'll be viewing along the way and on side trips. I may take a red or orange marker along to mark special sites also.

The 1:11000 scale is perfect--it's readable, and the lamination should work well in the rain. 1:10000 would be even more readable and still geographically cover all the main tourist areas. The highway numbers are just a lighter shade of yellow than the roadways, and hard to read. They should be larger and a bright color to stand out.

Not only was this great on our trip but I gave it to our guide at the end who really appreciated not only the completeness of the map but also the ability to write on it and erase. I loved the fact that it never got wrinkly or wet on our many adventures, as well as keeping me (a bit geographically challenged) appraised as to where we were. Light and easy to use. Would highly recommend for a Cuba trip across the countryside.

Basically one of the best maps you can get for Cuba, and thats not saying much. I've just come from doing a road trip in Cuba, and this one was my go-to map. Recommended over any other. I've tried them all.

Very good overall map for getting your bearings and calcuating distances. Not detailed enough for driving. For that, go with the International Travel Map (which unfortunately seems to cover only western Cuba). The two together should do the trick.

The map is excellent for the portion of the city that it shows and is very easy to read with the multi colours. However, it does not show a large chunk of Copenhagen compared with the Freytag and Berndt map of Copenhagen. It's ok if you're just going to be downtown but does not show the outer core of the city.

Great map for overview but not enough detail.

Hallo,Ich habe in Cuba ca. 3000km mit einem Mietwagen zurückgelegt und kann aus eigener Erfahrung sagen, dass es keine "perfekte Straßenkarte" für dieses Land existiert.Die Straßenkarte von Borsch ist in Kombination mit anderen sehr hilfreich.Vorteile: sehr handlich, gute Übersicht, robust und relativ preiswert.Nachteil: Wer andere Straßen, Fahrwege anstelle von Hauptstraßen und Autobahnen befahren möchte, sollte sich auf jedenfall einen einheimischen Straßenplan (in der Autovermietstelle) besorgen.Selbst mit 4 unterschiedlichen Straßenkarten ist die Autfahrt bzw. Navigation auf den Straßen von Cuba sehr abenteuerreich.Das größte Problem sind nicht die Karten, sondern die magere bis gar keine Beschilderung von unter anderem Dörfern, Straßen etc.Es sollte jedoch keinen davor abschrecken das Land mit einem Mietwagen zu bereisen.Ich hoffe ich konnte weiterhelfen.

Diese Karte ist ein wirklicher Allrounder. Man kann sie wirklich beliebig falten und mit einem (nonpermanenten) Folienstift sich wichtige Reiserouten markieren. Außerdem sind Detailkarten zu Havanna, Playas del Este, Varadero und Santiago de Cuba vorhanden, die auch recht detailreich sind. Weiterhin sind die wichtigsten Maßeinheiten und ihre Umrechung ins deutsche genannt.Insgesamt volle Punktzahl für das gelungene Gesaamtkonzept.

Meiner Meinung nach ist der Maßstab viel zu klein, um sich vor Ort mit dem Mietwagen fortzubewegen. Klar, die Hauptstraßen sind drin, aber nachdem wir viele Straßen befahren haben, die nicht auf der Karte zu finden waren, die aber dennoch ordentlich große Straßen waren, kann ich diese Karte nicht empfehlen. Mein Tip: maps.me aufs Handy nstallieren und ohne Kosten navigieren.

Me ha sido útil para preparar viajes y poder pintarlo en el mapa. Buena visibilidad de carreteras y numeración. Muy útil.

Al final no lo use no se ve bien ademas me di cuenta que los mapas que dan con el coche de alquiler son mas precisos y sobre todo actualizados con mayor escala.
