SGT KNOTS #138 Polyester Bonded Sewing Thread for Stitching Gear & Clothes, Crafts (16oz Spool, Black)

I had some doubts about this thread due to the low price. Break it down by the yard or foot. It is inexpensive. This is some of the best thread out there. I purchased the Tex 135. It stays together and barely ever freys at the end cut even with dull shears. This stuff is incredibly strong. I would be surprised if you could pull a length apart before it cuts into your fingers and you give up. Although the supplier is a Marine, I would still recommend buying from him. (Army vet here. And that is a joke. ) If you are debating about this thread, buy it. You won't be disappointed.

Used to repair jeep top. Product worked as expected and was easy enough to use. Had a few needles break but the thread didn't break.

Fast shipping is great, and the value is there. I used it to sew combing pads for marine use and had no issues with the thread on my commercial machine. Only time will tell if the thread holds up. No issues of thread falling off the spool like others reported. The spool was well packaged.

For those who use a standard, domestic sewing machine, this spool works great if you just let it sit on the table next to your machine. I’m using it with Sailrite marine canvas and a Brother sewing machine, and I’m having no trouble at all with tension or sewing. **Note that for filling a bobbin, you’ll have to guide the thread from the spool with just a little tension using your fingers. It spools off so quickly when winding the bobbin that you’ll have a mess of tangled thread. Easy fix is to add light tension to the thread manually when filling your bobbins. Other than that, just sew normally with the spool sitting on the table.

This thread sews smoothly in my Consew 206 and does not fray easily at the end.

Everything else I have ever purchased from Sgt Knots has been a great product and value. I have purchased and used this same size and spec from Sgt Knots in the past with NO problems. Not this spool (207 polypropylene thread). I bought this spool in 2019 & have been trying to use it on various projects and fabrics ever since. I finally threw the spool away this weekend (Aug ‘22) after trying to sew sandbags all day. As it has done since I first got it, this thread constantly broke, separated and unraveled throughout the day. I tried replacing new needles, increasing needle size, slowing down my sewing, etc. I even switched fabrics. Nothing made this garbage work.I finished the job (very quickly) when I switched to a V-92 poly thread (also purchased from Sgt. Knots) that I had in stock. I feel stupid for having wasted so much time thinking it might have been me, the materials or the industrial Juki I used.Not sure if this could have been a fluke from the start or end of a manufacturing run, or whatever. As I mentioned before, Sgt. Knots sells quality products. I will continue to purchase from them. I just hope I never get another dog like this was!

Product looks good and strong, and plenty of it. The end needed to be taped as quite a lot was unravelked and a big mess in the bag. I deducted a star for this

I sew professionally and use a lot of thread. The quality of this Sgt Knots #92 is wonderful. Very smooth and does not shred through needle. Doesn't twist. Top stitch looks gorgeous. Definitely can tell the difference between this and the cheaper threads. Definitely worth the price difference with time saved (thread breakage/re-threading) and quality. Highly reccommended.

Very happy to have this thread. As advertised. I would love to find a local supplier but this will do. This seems to be a hard to find product so I’m happy to have this .. will buy again , it’s worth it!!
