Easy to Understand and Fun to Read
I plan on doing a book club with my teach next season with this book. It’s easy to ready and stay engaged with the fun story of a female jouster. The concept taught in the book are great and a must ready for young athletes. It’s also good for coaches, I loved it!

Great book for the aspiring athlete or competitor who is looking to step up
Great book. This book should be given to every child who plays sports, maybe every kid period. I'm a 30-year-old athlete striving to get better and just read this book and found it inspiring, full of lessons, and helpful.

Fun story about becoming the athlete (and person) you want to be
Easy to read parable (fable? allegory?) about the quest of a young aspiring athlete in her quest to become a champion jouster. It is in the same vein as Chop Wood, Carry Water (or Pound the Stone, and presumably Win in the Dark - haven't read that one yet); both have useful chapters which are mostly centered around certain coaching or training principles/ideas. However, The Inner Knight comes across as a much more cohesive and enjoyable story for me personally than Joshua Medcalf's books.Anybody familiar with Allen and Mayer's Coach Your Brains Out podcast or book will recognize several key ideas they have focused on in the past (training vs trusting mindset, mindfulness, variable training / environmental constraints, etc.) but they are presented in a fun way which gets inside the head of the athlete and hopefully will therefore be more relatable to current athletes as well! Hoping to go through this with current college athletes and see useful conversations and learning opportunities develop!!

This book was recommended to our daughter by her volleyball coaching staff! What great insight these leaders have and I will forever be grateful they recommended it to her. It has help change her mental game, has helped me and her siblings understand her and her passion better, and we’ve recommended it to other teammates and parents.!.! Thank you for writing this book and influencing other for good! The only thing I wish it that it was on audible;)

Highlights the best way to learn, teach and coach!
This book is an amazing step-by-step tutorial in how to achieve your goals. It uses creative stories and lessons to help players, coaches and parents alike learn the best way to improve in almost any arena. Meridian is all of us, she loves her sport, and has begun to believe she can achieve her dreams, and with the methods of her coach she can reach them. Persistence, patience and proper game-like practice help her on her way.The author leads you down the path of discovery with several AH-HA moments that make you want to share these coaching strategies with every one. I'm buying a couple dozen for my coaching and teaching friends and look forward to more amazing lessons from Billy. Thanks!

Excellent read for athletes and coaches, or for anyone that loves to learn and enjoys a good story!
This is a very well written book that pulls you into the story, while also teaching some great principals of motor learning, or just learning in general. An excellent read that even kids as young as 12 would really enjoy!
