the plug in unit has stopped working, but the trap runs on batteries. How do I replace the wall socket plug in unit?

Question 2

Just got. turn on and i get a alternating green red light about 1-2 seconds apart. manual doesn't address this possibility. any ideas?

When you place per say batteries in the devise then turn the trap on. First the light will be green then it turns to red and blinks every so many seconds (only red blinks), meaning the devise is armed and ready. If batteries are low, the devise will make a beeping sound as if you caught a rodent but it's empty. Hope this helps you. I caught 27 rats so far!

Question 3

Has anyone trapped a squirrel with this?

I had 2 traps set for 3 weeks trying for red squirrels and chipmunks. I did not get one of anything, but the peanut butter and walnuts were eaten. After reading the reviews where some people caught a lot of critters, I was excited that this would be the answer to our over abundance of red squirrels and chipmunks. I was very disappointed when I didn't even get a mouse.  I returned both units.

Have you used it with a cat in the house?

We've had these kinds of traps for about two years now and we have 2 grown cats. With that said we've never had a problem with the cats getting " Zapped ". Even though the opening is about 3"x3", on the bottom of the trap is three separate metal plates also about 3"-4" each. We have only seen the cats kind of look inside the trap as we use either cheese or peanut butter, but they have never gone into the trap. Even if a kitty or a grown cat is a bit curious, if they go inside and just walk on the first metal plate on the bottom, nothing happens. Like a mousy or a rat, you have to have them walk inside and their feet have to touch both the 2nd plate and the third plate that the " bait" is on. Only if a critter is touching both of those back two plates, will it get zapped. So as I said we never had our cats go into the trap far enough to get zapped, but I think even if a kitty does go in far enough to touch both those two back plates, about 6" to 8", I also think the second their paw even touches that third plate, they would never enter it again. a mouse or rat paw is so small that the second their front feet hit that third plate, ZAP, quick and painless bye-bye !!
