They are very sturdy and stand up to a lot of things you wouldn't expect. I have used them with oil paints for an art piece. The cotton end of a regular Q-tip would never hold up to such intense usage.

I hate AMERICAN Q-tips there paper sticks suck. These are amazing the black color shows your cleaning progress easily.

So I have some mixed feelings. On the one hand, they are a lot more rough and solid than I expected and don't really soak water up very efficiently but at the same time, when it comes to cleaning, as others have stated, they perform very well and the color makes it easy to see exactly what you're pulling out of your ears. They are also extremely sturdy

Seems similar to the included swabs that come with conductonaut, works the same. Enough to last basically forever for the cost of just *3* of the official swabs.

Cleans my ears so I can hear my wife better

I first discovered these awesome things at a pharmacy in Osaka because I "luckily" forgot to pack cotton swabs for a multi-week stay in Japan. At first I wasn't thrilled about spending what seemed like a lot for a relatively small-count container, but then I loved them so much that I bought several more containers to bring back home. After I eventually went through those, I was thrilled to find the product available on Amazon!I'm very particular about swabs and have always stuck with a particular brand because I find most to be too flimsy to feel like they're cleaning my ears effectively. These black swabs are so firm/sturdy that you'd almost think they're made of wood, and the cotton parts are very dense; the shafts won't bend and the tips wont simply 'squish' when extra pressure is applied. They make my old brand of choice feel beyond chintzy by comparison.Their sturdiness also lends itself very well to various "non-ear" cleaning tasks, as you can dig into small spaces much more aggressively than "regular" cotton swabs would handle.These things are worth every penny, and will be the only swabs I buy as long as they remain available.Caveat: If your ears are rather sensitive or you generally prefer really soft tips on swabs, you'll likely find these to be very uncomfortable.

This is a great product. When I saw the video about this, I had to just go and buy and try it out. So, in the meantime. I bought different ones at the same time. If you read or see some of the postings that I posted, you will see them. BUT, by you reading this post right now, you need to BUY this ONE. ONLY this one!!!There is another one, that has a double spiral but it's not as study as this one. But, I can't believe how dirty your ears are with these black cotton swabs. Compared, when you see them with the white cotton swabs. Who invented, making "BLACK COTTON SWABS" sure is a wizard.
