Thick, long hair? Seriously, you need these...
I have classic length (down to my hips) hair that is really thick. I LOVE these clips for using to twist my hair up into buns without tearing up my hair at all. I use them to sleep so my hair is piled on my head and not getting knotted. Also, perfect for the shower while conditioner sets so your clip doesn't break fragile wet hair. I literally do not leave home without these. With hair this length, sometimes a girl needs to get her hair 100% tied back (hot days, house cleaning when you don't want to chance your super long hair getting into, say... the toilet 🙄, when you have to open your vehicle's hood and don't dare risk your hair getting caught in the belts (hey, the risk is REAL), or when you're cooking dinner and you don't want your family pulling extraordinarily long hairs from their food and giving you the evil eye for their surprise flossing cause there's only one person there with that length hair... 😔 Let's just say, long hair is lovely and relatively easy to tend if you have the right tools, but sometimes you HAVE to pull it back in a hurry without linking your nice smooth blowout -- These clips ARE THE RIGHT TOOLS. Gentle, never pulling, not flashy, pocket-sized, affordable, flexible, makes my hair curl under at the end and give the rest a lovely wave from the bun without the clip kink -- you know the one 😒My only minor complaints are that they slip out of your hair if your hair is soft. They are really only great for the full tie up/bun. I twist the whole mass up till I have a half to one inch of my ends. Then clip that end flat to my scalp.. It leaves a little tuft of hair and prolly looks ridiculous, but it works in seconds flat. And stays nicely. Plus your luscious locks are still luscious when you remove the bun 😁There are of course other ways to wear these, but they are less ornamental hair clip, more utility clip. I can rarely find them in a brick and mortar retail store, so I got these here on Amazon. I got the too small ones accidentally, but still use them all the time, just can't fit much hair in the little ones. The bigger ones are THE BEST CLIPS EVER! I've bought dozens (I lose them and keep one in car, purse, shower, etc.) Life savers!

Flexible, comfortable, holds day thru night, and is very affordable! Love it!!!
These are really nice; took a few times before I got it to do what I needed but once I learned....gosh these are great!!!I love being able to twist my hair in the morning and slipping a claw clip in and head out the door. That's all well and fine..BUT I also hate, hate, hate hair on my neck while I sleep. And anyone else who sleeps with a claw clip in their hair knows how incredibly uncomforatable that feels. Hence, my search for more recent inovations to the hair clip industry which led me to this item.I need a little gel or spray in my hair to get this clip to work, but my hair is thinning due to medical problems (and that's on top of the thinness I've had since chemo). With a little gel, this clip is AWESOME!!! Slept with it in my hair last night and what a joy!!!I was actually very surprised when I started slipping it in my twisted hair that my first thought was "there is no way this clip will take in all this "glob" of twisted hair but I pressed on. And let me tell you...it can take on a large amount of hair gathered in one place! And hold it - and hold it some more - and more - and even through sleep. Never thought it possible with this clip but it truly has won me over!It is made of flexible plastic which allows it to be able to take in a large "glob" of hair with no problem. It holds without the clip pressure against your skull that you get from a claw clip. And it STAYS PUT where you put it all day and all night. Such a simple little hair accessory but really effective and easy to use. And like I said, even with thin hair with a little product in it, it works just as well.I've never seen this in any store so when I came across it on Amazon I was intrigued. Read the wonderful reviews and took the plunge and placed my order and so glad I did!

Great product and they really are ouchless!
These are great little barretts. They are truly ouchless. At first glance they look flimsy and you wonder how they will hold, but I have thick hair and they are wonderful and hold quite well. I use the small ones to hold my bangs and side hair up and then use the larger ones to hold the back of my twisted updo. The back one has to handle alot of hair because my hair is ong and when twisted, it strains most typical barrestts. I never feel a pinch or a tug and there are no horrible barrette headaches that you get at the end of a long day with other barrette. I can wear an updo all day long without hairspray and it never falls out. There are tiny little soft 'teeth' inside the barrette that at first glance look like they'd be useless but they really do hold the hair and I am so comfortable that I forget I have them in. I have even worn the large one on the back of my head to hold a twisted updo whist lying on my back for an hour and a half last extention appointment. I was totally comfortable. I love the brown color because it blends with my hair nicely and my barrette is not competeing with my make-up or jewelry for attention. The price on these little guys can get steep since they seem to be hard to find, but they are worth the couple dollars because you will save time and frustration and money over buying others that won't work as well.

Small size
These are just what you would expect and they do hold hair. However, they are very small, roughly over 2 inches and I was used to a much larger version I had before. They work fine on thin hair but I think they wouldn't hold a lot of thick hair.

Amazing! Works for mine and my toddlers hair
These are amazing. I bought them for my toddler because I needed a quick way to get her hair out of her face. I tried them on myself and it even works in my hair!I have fine yet frizzy and wavy hair. It's hard to get my hair to stay in and not fall out. These do the trick. It can hold my entire pony tail! These are worth the price. They are made of quality material, don't hurt, hold our hair and look nice.GOODY, PLEASE MAKE MORE COLORS.

These are okay.
These Goodie Ouchless barrettes are a flexible plastic. They don't break the hair. They would be good for very thick wavy hair.I have straight hair Asian hair. It's thick, but not thick enough for these barrettes. I was growing out my fringe/bangs at the front of my head. The barrette is too big to hold this small amount of hair. If I clip a bigger clump towards the back of my head, it holds okay if i'm inside all day. It won't hold, if I'm in the wind or pull a sweater over my head.I ordered 3 packs. You can see from above's description, that it says, "Black". 2 packs had 2 black barrettes. 1 pack had 1 black and one brown clip, like the picture. As other reviews mention, you don't always get black barrettes.

Happy Hair Hopefully.
I was looking for a barrette that wouldn't damage my hair and opinion online brought me to these. My issue was breakage caused by metal and "teeth" edges on other clips, neither of which this range has. They're made of flexible plastic and users report how comfortable they are for travelling too - apparently, you can't feel them when napping on the plane/car. Now that I have some, I can quite believe this. (They've been available in the USA for a few years but not here, lots of positive reviews on Amazon.com, take a look.)A little concerned at their cheap appearance when they arrived, but this was minor compared with the result: the barrette held my hair, looked fine and if I'm frank, let me relax significantly about not risking more breakage. Size-wise, these smaller ones can hold a surprising amount, just one holds my ponytail very comfortably. The colours are fine - black is shiny, the brown less so, looks more subtle. Despite being plastic, reports from USA suggest they last well. We'll see. There are more in the "Ouchless Flex" range too such as clips for front of the hair, pretty "alice" type hairbands (again, no teeth) and other colours for children but they're only available stateside so the postal and customs charges make it less palatable. I sourced these particular barrettes from UK-based seller called "Daisy" for a reasonable cost with rapid delivery. Recommended.
