Yoga using a steel folder chair or two!
This booklet of yoga poses focuses on the use of a folding steel chair in yoga movements so to get the most out of this book make sure that you have two very sturdy folding chairs as well as towels for added cushion in some moves. The booklet has 7 chapters of poses which are depicted with drawings and a brief description of each pose which are progressively more difficult in each chapter. For someone who does yoga regularly this is a nice way to work through toward more challenging yoga poses such as inversion and backward extensions. Overall a nice booklet of a yoga practitioner.

Yoga modification guide
I enjoyed this book as a starting place to get back into yoga. I've had some injuries since I last practiced seriously, and more than anything, this book has provided some stabilizing modifications. It would be a good book for someone with some slight balance issues as the chair gives a grounding point. The photos are well laid out and provide some details. I think someone brand new to yoga would have trouble doing many of these correctly and would be better off in a class with a watchful instructor. If you do have balance issues, be cautious and smart about what the chair is doing. There are a couple of poses I tried that could be a real issue with the chair slipping. And if the chair is not on carpet or a yoga mat, it will slide. I also leaned into the chair opposite of what the pose showed and collapsed it. Be smarter than I was. ;) Keep in mind, if there's nothing around you and you fall in a yoga pose, you simply fall to the ground. If you fall with a chair, you could be seriously injured.I found that the images are drawn of someone closer to 5'6”. At 4 inches taller, even with my super long arms, I couldn't reach the top of the chair the way the person was using it and had to modify. The back of the book does have a taller backless chair listed, but I couldn't find one to buy and wasn't the point to use something found at home? I'm also wondering if a shorter person will run into similar problems. But having this book as a reference has given me some great ideas as well as stretching ideas for home that I hadn't thought of.

Decent Book for Beginners
It was a nice book and well laid out. If you’re new to chair yoga, you may like this book. However, if you are experienced with yoga / chain yoga, this book did not provide any new info or a different view. (Nothing I haven’t seen in other books or read online for free.) Also, there could have been more info on contraindications.

Yoga moves
Surprise little book with many interesting yoga moves using a backless chair. It looked so good for stretches and poses that I bought a folding chair to use to complete the poses. The chair gives you the stability you need to complete the poses securely and safely. The information for the different poses is very guided and instructional. Might not be able to do them all, but there are a variety of exercises in the book so there's plenty to get the job done. Good illustrations and simple instructions.

Turn that folding chair into your best yoga partner!
I'm becoming more open to using props lately in my home practice. This has included the standard blocks and a yoga strap. Back in the day when I was super gung ho and attended a lot of yoga classes these were the most common props that were used. Now I'm discovering that my house has an ample supply of a prop that may be the best of all: the folding chair. This slim pamphlet shows how you can turn a folding chair into your best yoga partner. Fortunately the chairs in my house have screws which made the removal of the back easy enough. But imho you don't necessarily need a backless chair for many of the poses in the book. There are simple directions and pretty decent diagrams. While I'm not sure some of the poses are helped much by the use of the chair, I am inspired by the creative aspect of having the chair involved to support you to at least some degree, much like a partner would in some of those fun partner yoga classes I attended back when I was a starry eyed neophyte. As some others have noted some of these poses are rather advanced and do require good balance, e.g. standing on the chair while folding forward or raising one leg, etc. If you're careful and move from within and listen to your body you should be okay following most of the guidance in this book. I was a little surprised at how brief this book is, but then again sometimes simplicity is appreciated.

Perfect illustrated index to Iyengar chair poses
This is a great companion tool for intermediate + students of Iyengar yoga. If you are disciplined in careful alignment of your body when using yoga chairs, this will be a great resource to locate familiar and new variations of using a yoga chair for Iyengar. The illustrations are precise but there are limited indications of how to set up and hold poses. This is why this is only recommended for people who are experienced in Iyengar as beginners might injure themselves without proper preparation.
