Excellent product. Great for active dogs. Our two adult female Shelties fit perfectly in a size medium Derby. The dogs can comfortably run and play and the coat stays put. They recently spent 3 hours sled riding with our kids and stayed warm while having fun running along side the sleds. Would definitely recommend!

I almost never do product testimonials, but I am so impressed with this coat!!!!!! Our doberman, Tebow, is notoriously deep-chested and impossible to buy coats for, so we ordered this coat wondering if it would even be a possibility of fitting him. We ordered an XL, and if anything we could have gone down a size and it would still fit him. It is made of heavy-duty, waterproof canvas, with insulated lining. All around is a heavy-duty cording with pleats for the dog to be able to run and move easily. The front of the chest closure for this size has two straps and buckles which are extremely well made. Underneath his chest is a strap with elastic and velcro that is very wide and the closure seems very secure. I'm going to order this in brown also! It cost $33, and I am absolutely blown away by the quality!October 2019.....Tebow has owned the purple and brown coats for 2 years now, and they’re still going strong. I replaced the Velcro on the brown one with industrial Velcro because it got worn out.....otherwise the coats are in great condition. They get a real workout here in Pennsylvania from October until May, as Tebow’s fur is thin and he really suffers from the cold.We just received the snazzy new brown plaid coat today, and couldn’t resist posting an update with pictures. Seriously, these Derby Originals Dog Coats are fantastic! I can’t recommend them highly enough!!!

These coats are amazing, they are fashionable, heavy duty, and their sizes are spot on. We love the designs on this coat and have ordered many different colors and patterns. These coats are amazing quality, and very reasonably priced. You really can't go wrong! We tell everyone about them.

This winter coat for dogs is of excellent quality, durability, and fit. It's particularly suited for big, long, lean dogs like collies. The fabric is durable; the velcro fasteners around the tummy help create a snug fit for cold days. Totally recommend this winter coat for dogs.

Love this coat! I was on the fence and researched for days for the perfect coat. I have a 56 lb Australian Labradoodle, and yes, I know they are fluffy, but it's not thick fluff and she gets cold in this brutal Maine winter. I was very unsure about sizing since many said they were too small or too large and said they were disappointed with the sizing chart. In the end, I ordered the brown with tan trim, 1200 denier, size large and it is perfect. I went by the size of the breeds listed and somewhere I saw sizes in inches. She is 23 inches from collar to tail so I went with the large. I LOVE it! It is extremely well made, warm without being TOO warm, meaning she is quite comfortable in it. She lets me slip it on her and then off she goes, having a blast running in the snow.It covers her hind end and chest, and has a nice drop so it gives her a little more protection from the biting winds we've been having.Right now everything is about as perfect as it can be but I will do an update should anything change. I would not hesitate to recommend this great coat, nor would I hesitate to order it again if need be.**edit** I took away a star because the velcro is peeling away from the coat. I haven't had it very long...a week?...and I will already have to sew it. Quite disappointed.**edit #2** I give Derby Coats 5 stars again because I contacted the company and they never hesitated to replace the coat. I sent a picture on where the stitching had come undone and they sent the replacement right out. GREAT customer service! I have since added to the family with another pup and will be buying another one of these coats.

This is an extremely well made coat in a great warm, all-weather fabric. I like that it buckles in the front and attaches with velcro under the stomach. It extends down the sides to protect against wind, cold and wet weather. The neckline is a little low - it only covers up to the shoulders, but the neck isn't covered. The front is the same - it's low on the chest. It won't matter much for my shih tzu who has a thick and fluffy natural coat and mostly needs protection from the biting wind on cold days, and the elements, such as in wet weather. Note that it runs very large. Normally my dog is small-medium but here the small was almost too big.

Maggie is our 1-yo Boxer and she loves to play, CONSTANTLY! She hates the cold though. This jacket works great for her outdoor playtimes. She can get pretty ruff-n-tumble with all her friends at her doggy daycare. This jacket has held up great. Tuff as nails. Medium has been spot on for her size and weight.

The media could not be loaded.  This jacket is clearly designed with horse experience. The chest adjustments allow for wide and narrow chest sizes, the girth strap has plenty of adjustment length and the pleating in shoulders and rump help maintain fit in all circumstances. The inside is comfortably soft and easy to keep clean while the outside has been very durable. The outside isn't waterproof but it is water repelling and does dry quickly. The jacket maintains a great fit squeezed into tight spaces on planes or outside jumping around.Use the measurement guide as it was very true to represented size.I love that the girth velcro is connected on both sides but i do wish the loop portion (soft velcro) had a tab on the end to ease jacket removal.

It’s very nice long enough to cover hips but my dog bit through the neck strap then got it off and started to try and make a hole in the body so not Rottweiler proof

Best coat ever! I got a 600D one last year for my bigger dog which was difficult to find a well fitted jacket. After getting numerous other jackets for my other mid size dog, I decided to get the Derby one again. By far much better material and quality than any other jackets I got. I like how it’s not fleece inside so their hair won’t get stuck. Easier to wash and clean too. Looks like it will last a long time even with them playing while wearing it. Btw my dog is about 15kg basenji mix.

Java looks handsome and warm. The belly band and gussets were perfect. Wish it had leg straps but they are easy to add

XL - fits perfect for my 90 pound male Labrador. I will use for warm weather rain protection, it looks very stylish. I would order this style again.

Tough like a horse coat but made for a dog! This coat is excellent for active dogs that play rough together. It's the only coat I've found so far that my Rhodesian Ridgebacks haven't been able to rip off each other! Excellent coat!
