This unusual twin-engine aircraft had a nacelle with a pilot's cabin placed between two fuselages. The so-called "flying frame" provided very good performance, which translated into a long production period (which lasted from 1941 to 1945) and a huge number of victories by American pilots. The plane was decommissioned only in 1965. The P-38 LIGHTNING is released under the original license of the American defense company Lockheed Martin. Accurately reproduced in a 1:32 scale model, the plane consists of 545 COBI construction blocks. The model is covered with high-quality prints that do not wear off even during intense play. It is worth noting the characteristic markings and emblems refer to a historical aircraft bearing the number 208 and nose art of Pluto the dog. The plane has rotating propellers, folding landing gear, movable ailerons and an opening cabin in which you can place the well-designed pilot figure. The whole set is completed with a brick with the printed name of the set and the Lockheed Martin logo! This famous plane is the perfect gift idea for fans of aviation, history and technology. It will certainly satisfy even picky collectors and young people fascinated by blocks. Build history, piece by piece, with COBI! ## Features - 545 high-quality blocks - Lockheed Martin license - One pilot figure and a plate with the name of the set to display - Clear and intuitive instructions based on illustrations and step-by-step directions - Fully compatible with other brands of construction blocks ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B09R9SG4XL | | Additional Features | Easy Storage | | Age Range Description | Kid | | Best Sellers Rank | #588,044 in Toys & Games ( See Top 100 in Toys & Games ) #16,104 in Toy Building Sets | | Brand Name | COBI | | Color | Multicolor | | Customer Package Type | Standard Packaging | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (285) | | Educational Objective | Concentration, Construction Skills, Creative Thinking, Logical Thinking, STEM | | Included Components | Product Manual | | Item Dimensions | 0.1 x 0.1 x 0.1 inches | | Item Type Name | play vehicles | | Item Weight | 1.8 pounds | | Manufacturer | Cobi Toys | | Manufacturer Part Number | COBI-5726 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | 90 Day Warranty Against Manufacturer Defects | | Manufacturer recommended age | 6 - 13 years | | Material Type | Plastic | | Model Name | COBI-5726 | | Model Number | 5726 | | Model Year | 1944 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Players | 1 | | Operation Mode | Manual | | Power Source | No Power Source Required | | Set Name | Set #5726 | | Size | 13.8 inches long, 19.7 inches wide | | Subject Character | American | | Theme | Military | | Toy Vehicle Form | Airplane | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Images ![COBI Historical Collection: World War II Lockheed P-38 Lightning (H) Plane - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51Vgbf0e+kL.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - COBI Historical Collection: World War II Lockheed P-38 Lightning (H) Plane - COBI Historical Collection Korean War F4U-4 ™ Corsair® Aircraft - COBI Historical Collection World War II P-47 Thunderbolt™ Plane --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hu/products/421265381-cobi-historical-collection-world-war-ii-lockheed-p-38-lightning](https://www.desertcart.hu/products/421265381-cobi-historical-collection-world-war-ii-lockheed-p-38-lightning) --- *Product available on Desertcart Hungary* *Store origin: HU* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
