McCall'sPatterns McCall's Women's Buttoned Dress, Sizes 6-14 Sewing Pattern, various, White

I was attracted to this pattern after viewing a few You Tube sew long videos. The dress seems very easy to construct so i purchased the pattern as I love this style. Of course, I made a toile as I would hate to ruin beautiful fabric and waste time making a dress that will not fit. The only alteration I made was to lengthen the mid riff by 5/8 inch and that was perfect. This pattern is very easy to work with if you already have some basic sewing experience, if not, the YT sew alongs certainly help. I know I will enjoy having this in my pattern stash as I also plan on some variations to the design

The pattern is ok, but for how much money it cost, I would have expected it to fit better according to the measurements it gives you on the pattern. I always measure and this pattern gave me more fitting problems than most. I am sewing for 40 years, so I know to make a tester first with some cheap fabric, good thing I did. The dress does look good at the end, but check twice before cutting your expensive fabric.
