Bayer Dermoscent Bio Balm Skin Repairing Care for Dogs 50 ml. Pet Itch Remedies

I was very impressed with the results of this balm. My dogs both had horrible looking pads that were dry in many areas and even discolored. I thought something horrible happened to their feet but after one application, there was great improvement. It wasn’t easy to keep them from licking it but it still worked! Worth trying for sure!

5/23/2015 This is an update. I have ordered this product several times to for my dog with the problem mentioned before. I am very dissapointed with the latest batch I received. It is SO hard that I have to scrape it out of the container with my nails, rub it between my fingers to soften it and then apply it to my dogs paws. I noticed that the container now says Bayer - is this the reason for the change in formula. It used to be very soft - almost goopy and the container often came wrapped in plastic wrap too. It was a 20 application process and straight to the treat. My dog was happy. Now it is way harder and I am not so happy. Please go back to the old formula!I took my older dog to the vet because of the odd growths on the pads of his feet. It seemed to be painful for him to walk. The vet diagnosed it as hyperkeratosis and said there was nothing to do. The growths could be "surgically removed" but that would require anesthesia and they would just grow back. After researching the internet I purchased a jar of this and within a week of applying twice a day ( morning and night) to his feet the growths were falling off! Another week and they were gone. His pads looked healthy and soft again. His walking was back to normal. The growths do come back if I don't keep up with a maintenance application of once a day or every other day. But, if there is a problem, I just up the application to twice a day as in the beginning. I have purchased several jars and Dermoscent is now a standard part of my doggie medicine cabinet. My younger dog even lines up for a foot rub too. ( but that may have to do with the treat afterwards : ) It does have a strong scent of eucalyptus and my dogs do lick their paws a bit right after application but it is 100% organic. They have not suffered any ill effects during the 6 months of use.

The actual balm works very well and is easy to apply. My dog disliked the smell. I have asthma and as much as I tried to get used to the scent , it bothered me too much. The ingredients are very good.

This ointment is simply amazing! My dog had hyperkeratosis on several paws with a nail like spur growing out of two pads. From what I had read on the internet, this was incurable. Awful stories about how these growths had to be ground down and the weird hair growth cut back. Then I read a post recommending this product - one post out of hundreds - and I had hope. So I ordered and started putting in on my 11 yr old Rhodesian ridgeback's paws and within 2 days I say huge improvement and within 5 days the nail like spur growth was gone. I continued to put in on 1-2 times a day for about 2 weeks, then we had to go on vacation. His paws were 90% normal. I was concerned that the growths would come back as he was at the kennel for a week. When we picked him up I couldn't believe it. His paws were the same as when I'd left him. This stuff is a miracle!!!!!I am so GRATEFULl to have found this. I hope everyone finds this product whose pet suffers from Hyperkeratosis!!!!!

This product was recommended by my daughter who is a veterinarian. After two weeks, my dog's dry, crusty nose, also called hyperkeratosis improved dramatically. I had to work it in for at least 10 seconds so that he would not like all of it off. I also gave him a treat after so he has come to accept the procedure twice a day. He lets me rub it in longer also so he can have the treat. The crust on the top of the nose came off the first week and now his nose is soft and moist. I am so glad to find this inexpensive solution. The product will likely last for a year or more depending on the amount of area that it is being applied to and the number of times per day. If it is used for paw pads, then expect to buy more frequently. I have a chihuahua, so it will last a very long time. It doesn't take much either to be applied correctly.

The tub is much smaller than I expected and unlike the photo, this is NOT a Bayer product. It seems to do well at smoothing my dog's dry pads on his feet, but the STRONG smell of it is almost unbearable to me. 3 stars because despite the smell, tiny container, and false brand, it does help my dog's feet.

I had always wondered what the ridge of crust was on my Husky's nose. The vet never brought it up after yearly exams, so I figured it was nothing. Recently, I noticed the ridge of crust started to widen. Concerned, I started doing some research and realized the crust was Nasodigial Hyperkeratosis. It never seemed to bother my dog and it's not a life threatening condition, but I was worried that it could become extremely dry and cracked, which seemed could be painful. I figured I better nip this in the bud. I researched many different products but decided on giving Dermoscent Bio Balm a try....and WOW! After only 4 days of putting this creamy, wonderful smelling balm on her nose twice a day (that's all she allow me without putting up a major fight), the 'crust' has already started to naturally come right off. She does try to lick the product off, but right after I apply the Bio Balm I give her a treat to distract her urge to lick her nose and even when she is successful the balm is so rich it still penetrates enough of the crust to work. Overall, I am extremely impressed with this product. I love that it's all natural and despite the seemingly high cost for a small container, it will last forever as not much product is needed, even if applying multiple times a day. Compared the cost of going to the vet, giving Dermoscent Bio Balm a try is not only worth every penny, most importantly it's actually working.

I wish I'd taken a before picture, my poor dogs hyper keratinosis had made his nose in to a rough, scabby mess that itched something terrible and split painfully on the regular.After the first day (3 applications) we noticed an immediate difference. The scabing had fallen off on about 40% of his nose, and the skin underneath was soft and clean. We are down to just a tiny bit left on his nose, and we have barely even used any of the balm. This stuff will go far, and be used often in the future! If you love your pet and they're suffering like this, I recommend this product 100%!

Cannot recommend this enough, my girl has calluses and corn and after using this for a short period of time they were gone. I was really pleased, her pads were lovely and smooth and product smells good too.

It smells nice & works. I’ve tried several things. This works…my vet recommended it.

This was recommended by my vet for my dog as she has kicked her elbow to the point of creating dark hard skin.I've been using this daily for 2 weeks and jts really made the difference. Smells lovely to me but she won't lick it which is a bonus.

This cleared up my pups nose within a week of use!
