Q: Can I use a butane or propane torch to heat the stamp or will they be too hot?

My husband uses a small propane torch and tank as one would use for camping and it works perfectly. I got him his branding stamp for Christmas 2020 and he uses it to brand wood crafted items. He has learned that the type of wood he is branding determines the length of time to hold the hot branding stamp. So, for softer woods, he doesn't hold it in place as long, whereas for harder woods he holds it in place a little longer. He always tests it on a scrap piece of wood of the same type that he is branding.
