Great fake for group play or alone
Great game. Play and then pass it on to a friend. One time play mystery. Either play alone or with friends. Exciting.

Addictive, Well-Designed, and So Much Fun
THE BEST DATE NIGHT GAME!!!!Hunt A Killer: Murder at the Motel is such an immersive and well-thought-out game. From the moment you open the box, the storyline pulls you in. The clues feel realistic, the evidence is detailed, and everything works together in a way that makes you feel like a real detective. It’s challenging without being frustrating, and solving each part feels genuinely rewarding. This was perfect for a game night—great for couples, friends, or even playing solo if you love true crime and puzzles. We ended up talking through theories and debating suspects, which made it even more fun.The quality of the materials is excellent, and the pacing keeps you engaged the entire time. If you enjoy mystery, escape rooms, or crime-solving games, this is a must-have. Easily one of the best at-home mystery games we’ve played. I had to buy every one of them.Highly recommend!

Interesting and Fun, not for Security Guards
If you are security guard like I am, I'd suggest against this. (Easy to guess answer because of it.)However, this game was pretty fun / entertaining for a camping-night-out with my grandmother. I did enjoy the little knick-knacks, notes, conversations, and letters that came with it in order to "solve" the mystery. This is something to share with a dedicated group of family / friend(s) to get the game sorted out properly. I hope to get into such mystery games like this, but a tad more... difficult... I still suggest this, anyways.

Fun family night!
My older boys and I had a blast playing this! We have tried other ones and this by far is the best story line!

The Case was Very Easy, but We Still had Fun
We we pretty sure we had figured out the murderer in the first 20 minutes and then confirmed who it was in another hour or so. It is definitely solvable and we absolutely did not see mistakes in the solution or evidence like some other reviews suggested. My only complaint is that a few things are not explained very well in the epilogue, but it still was a fun case to solve. It is probably the weakest of the Hunt a Killer boxes and an extremely straightforward case, but I still think it’s worth picking up.

Have to use your brain!
Great Christmas gift for super sleuth! Harder than expected

A but of a shallow mystery
It's not bad, but we figured out the solution about halfway through, and the rest of the process felt like dotting i's and cross t's. There's not as much of a progression (solve this puzzle to get to the next puzzle). It's more like all the clues are in front of you from the start.

You can only play it once
Great game but you can only play it once.

Great for date night or with friends.
Super fun. I played it alone but more people would have made it way better.
User
Outstanding detective fun and high quality props and clues.
Unbelievable fun. Brilliantly entertaining and really cleverly made. Also, beware of pickles.
User
Hated it
Confusing and silly.

An addition to HAK’s one time boxes line
There are always mixed reviews about HAK’s one-off boxes. The thing is these are escape-room style murder mysteries so a certain level of being convoluted is to be expected… I mean escape room + murder mystery, it can’t be cakewalk! (This box is rated 4 stars out of 5 for difficulty). The thing is I have seen some really poor reviews about this set but someone who’s done Death at the Dive Bar, and Mystery at Magnolia Gardens, I’d still give it a try. At least the components do look cool
