3 pack Crown Maple Syrup with Robust Flavor Bourbon Barrel Aged LTD Edition 25 FL OZ

$14.99 at Costco
I've had some other Bourbon Barrel Aged Maple Syrups before and this is a good one. As other reviewers have pointed out, the bourbon flavor is subtle because it's just aged in a bourbon cask, not actually mixed with bourbon. The real problem here is that $32 is a blatant rip off. You can get this exact same LTD Edition syrup from Costco for $14.99. It's a mass produced product and there's nothing wrong with that, except the Amazon price.

Robust?
I regrettably purchased two bottles of Crown Maple Syrup with Robust Flavor Bourbon Barrel Aged LTD Edition 25 FL OZ. One was for my household and the other was a gift sent to my favorite person and her family. I never saw it at Costco, but was persuaded by the numerous raving reviews with mention of it being sold and disappearing from Costco shelves, repeat purchasers, and the appealing company website. Yes, it is delivered in a thick cardboard box, nice and secure in the exterior Amazon box. Yes, the bottle resembles a top-shelf bottle of bourbon or whiskey with a sealed plastic stopper and classic bottle label. True, the glass is thick and heavy, worthy of positioning at eye level so it's clearly visible when the refrigerator door is opened (refrigerate after opening) and easy to grab when you're ready to mix into a cocktail, include in a recipe, or use as a syrup for pancakes, waffles or French toast. What I regret about the purchases is that the syrup is very thin in viscosity, not much thicker than bourbon itself, perhaps a shade darker, and it's not robust. I find it to be rather bland, having only a hint of maple flavor. It does, however, have the distinct bourbon essence from its storage in used wood bourbon barrels and that is a tasty enhancement. This does not compensate for the initial visual impression of the bottle/box being greater than the overall taste of the maple syrup. I'm reviewing only the bottle we received and not the one which I had sent as a gift. Being that they both were purchased within two minutes of each other and were sent from the same location, I can only assume that they were from the same batch. The only difference was that mine traveled across the country in a UPS truck for several days and the other was sent in an airplane and traveled only for a day. I expect bourbon barrel-aged maple syrup to be more expensive due to the aging process and the packaging costs for this final product are high quality, but sorry, for the price of this maple syrup I received, I have to give it an average rating.

Delicious, HOWEVER is it really a LTD?
I'd give this 5 stars except for what i've typed below...I like this syrup however I'm not sure what it is that makes THIS a Limited Edition and costs more than the same sized bottle WITHOUT the Tag around the neck. It appears to be the same syrup but much less expensive. So, I'd not spend the extra bucks for this limited edition UNLESS there is a major difference that I'm not aware of. Also, how is it that 2 bottles cost $62+ and 3 bottles are $99 yet1 bottle is only $26+? Math says 3x26=78 and 2x26=52...So how do they figure the prices on the 2 and 3 pack?

My new "go to" maple syrup
This maple syrup which has been aged in bourbon barrels has a special flavor that, to my tastes, puts it head and shoulders above others I have tried. BUT it is not cheap. I use it sparingly so I am willing to pay the premium for the flavor. If there was some reason to use large quantities I am not sure I would chose this item. Only your personal tastes will tell you if this syrup is worth the premium item price. But it is good enough that trying it once is a good idea,

First off this is a really good maple syrup
First off this is a really good maple syrup, with a very strong caramel/vanilla taste to it. It would definitely be one of the best maple syrups I've had here in Wisconsin. However, if you are looking for a strong hint of Bourbon, I think you'll be disappointed. It is very subtle and if you didn't know it was there you might miss it. Nice looking bottle, makes a cool gift.

Cork stopper replaced with plastic cap
I bought a bottle of Crown maple syrup and saw they have replaced the cork stopper with a plastic screw on cap. On my purchase the plastic cap was damaged and hidden by the wrapper over it.The product is sold as a premium product yet you’ve reduced its quality by using a much lower quality cap and still don’t follow U.S. Department of Agriculture labeling system for syrup so that it's in line with international standards of grade followed by color. At a premium selling price, this shows an insanely poor lack of judgment by management.

Have to hide this Maple Syrup when friends come over !!!
Super Flavor from the Bourbon Barrel treatment. When friends or extended family members come over and we have pancakes, I have to hide the bottle. They once literally used a whole 25 oz. bottle when one tried it and then others joined in to try....In a matter of 45 minutes, the bottle was dry.....Just Saying, it is super flavorful...more so than regular Maple Syrup. Highly recommend

This syrup is the bomb
This is high end maple syrup with a hint of bourbon due to the ageing process. We bought our first bottle at Costco, and, like many items at Costco, it disappeared from the shelves in a month, so, we pay a lot more here. Maybe we'll have to figure out how to make this stuff ourselves with Trader Joe's Maple Syrup and some Bulleit.

My preferred maple syrup, best flavour!
This is my preferred maple syrup having once been given some as a gift.It has a good consistency and a wonderful deep flavour. I use it on oat buttermilk pancakes and other desserts and in baking.I especially like the Crown’s barrel aged syrup and always buy it over any other brand.

Complex Flavours
Rich, thick and smooth consistency, hints of Bourbon, soft caramel undertones and woody notes. Although of course its sweet, its balanced with all these extra flavours.Packaging top notch and the bottle is made from real thick heavy glass. All round top quality

Not Bourbon
Thought I was buying Bourbon not Maple Syrup the labelling is not explicit enough and not worth the money for Maple Syrup.
