Goren's New Bridge Complete: The New Five-Card Majors Edition

Nothing to dislike. I love it and it meets my needs perfectly. Would recommend to all mature players for a review of their bidding and play.

So glad I found this book used as the new one was more than I wanted to spend but it was recommended to me as an excellent book to have on bridge.

This is the foundation of Standard American used still today 30 years later. Fabulous book by a great Bridge writer. Every grandmother should have bought one 30 years ago. A great book for a beginner too as he fully explains the WHY we do it. Detailed section on play as well. The all around #1 Bridge book...that is why it is the Bridge players Bible. A must for every library.

The bidding portion is dated, but the play of the hand, percentages, etc. are as relevant today as they have ever been. The material is well stated and presented. Goren's insights are spectacular. I think this book is is a treasure--well worth the read. Now I'd I could remember it all---.

I have friends that have played by Goren’s rules since the 60’s. So I am trying to learn. This has been a great help.

If you think Goren's writings on bridge are obsolete, think again. This exhaustive book cover the most commonly used conventions, and plenty of less common ones, too. It explains the rational behind the conventions' use, it's advantages and dangers. I find it very helpful for reference. It is too large to use for table side reference. Well written, logical.

I bought this product for a gift. The book was in good shape but the cover was in very bad condition, so I cut out theauthors picture and pasted it over the personal inscription on the first page. Otherwise I might not have thought to do that.

I have enjoyed this review of bridge, I found that the book was not modern enough for me in that it seemed too much like the old one that was published many years ago. It is good and accurate but I believe the ACBL online tutor may have been better in that it was short. This book is timelessDennis Endicott

I was please to get Goren as I hadn't had it for years. there are still a lot of good rule's in Goren I play some different conventions but am glad to have to old Goren again!
