Compact and affective, works bidirectionally.
Great little splitter, although of course you cannot combine two inputs to one output, you can still connect two input devices to one output as long as only one input device is powered on and in use at a time. Great if you only have one available Toslink input on your amp.

Works well
Used to connect two audio sources to a Sonos sound bar. Works well. Quality is pretty good. Only criticism is that the connectors are soft plastic and quite easily fall out of the back of our TV box when it is moved unlike other optic cables I've used. Other than that there's not much to fault it.

One input ceased to work after a day's use.
Bought when I discovered that my 'new' TV has an optical output to connect audio to my hifi.As the TV box and CD player occupied the two optical imputs, I needed a third. This item seemed ideal for accepting the two TV devices without me having to fiddle at the rear of the amp every time I wanted to switch from listening to my TV's apps to 'normal' TV.I was fully aware that I could only listen to one of them at any time, but given that I've never seen the need to listen to them both at the same time, this wasn't a problem. What mattered was ease-of-use, and a quick test revealed that by switching one of the devices off using the remote, the sound of the other could be heard without me leaving the armchair.Perfect! The sound quality of both devices was first-class, as it should be with optical. The first evening, I watched a film on the TV's i-Player app with the sound for the first time ever coming through my hifi, and it was wonderful. The next morning, I wanted to watch a programme on the TV's Channel 4 app. There was no sound from the hifi, but when I switched on the TV box, the sound of normal telly was heard.I did the obvious checks like swapping over the optical cables and plugging in only one of them in turn, and discovered that one of the inputs had failed. Both devices worked perfectly via the other input. So, I'm reduced to leaving the armchair to plug in the desired device to the sole working input. It's no big deal, and I no longer have to fiddle at the rear of the hifi, but I bought this item to do a job which it failed to do.It might just be a faulty item, and I've returned it. It will be replaced with an optical extension cable, which means I'll still have to physically swap the optical cables, but at least it'll be at the side of the hifi, not the rear.

Works with two IN and one OUT
Used it to feed audio into my amp from Virgin cable box and PS5 (PS5 audio split out from HDMI using this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01J9ZVPZK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 )As expected, if you have both audio sources on then it only lets one through but that is no problem. Cheap and simple solution.UPDATE: UPDATE: After a few days of use a problem has occurred: when using the PS5 (with the Virgin tv box in standby) the audio periodically shuts off. The only way to resolve it is to completely switch off the Virgin box (or remove the Toslink cable from it). It seems that the Virgin box periodically puts out some audio signal when in standby. NOT a fault of this splitter.
