Idyll Organic Heather Honey from Greece, 10.5oz

I have purchased directly from the company's website before and received excellent heather honey that was exactly as expected. Unfortunately, this time the color, texture and taste were none of the normal characteristics associated with heather honey. It was a dark, dull Carmel color, syrupy instead of thick enough to spread and none of the deep smokey flavor that fills your nose as you eat it. The manufacturer took awhile to respond to my issues, but they did respond and wanted to help. I also contacted Amazon and they refunded my money. So while I'm not out any money, I was disappointed with what I got. Perhaps I'll try again at some point because I have had excellent honey from them.

In comparison to the Idyll Organic Fir & Thyme Honey, this heather honey is stronger and more flavor forward. The clarity is opaque, color darker golden-red and the taste is a little like a buckwheat honey, musky and heavy herbaceous floral, malty, not a flowery sweet floral. Good if you are ready for something different.

I am attempting to try as many varieties of honey as I can & this has been the most delicious thus far, previously it was an acacia honey.

This honey is sweeter than Pine or Fir or Thyme by Idyll. It is intensely floral, and totally delicious.
