Carpenter had problems installing. Key gets stuck and can't be removed after unlocking

The 1950 solid wood ply door receiving the new lock had only the smaller size bore hole acceptable and had to be filed a bit in order to get the bolt fully inside. This was not my first Schlage installation but I am no pro either. The difficulty every time has been due to having to remove the bolt face because of square corners in my application and they come factory assembled with the rounded corner version. In this case the screws that are supplied for the edge of the door were too small because the existing deadbolt had used larger screws. It was not easy to figure out why the deadbolt would not turn, but finally realized the tolerances on the bolt face are so precise that the old screw holes were bending it just enough to prohibit the bolt from moving.I resorted to filling both holes with popsicle splinters and wood glue, then was able the secure that without impeding the bolt movement. Then the jamb had to be mortised higher and I was really glad I had a large strike plate kept another door reinforcement. Again, Schlage sent very precisely milled, or one large rounded plates. I intend to get a six inch or longer jamb reinforcement mortised in, but I was just happy to have a metal lock plate that allowed the door to lock because it was late, and l didn’t want to start the jamb under “pressure”.Once that was done the lock went together very well, and the larger plate overlaying the hole looks really beautiful with the glass door knob and antique brass escutcheon underneath it, albeit almost totally useless as security, but original to the house. I’m very happy.

I had the cylinder switched to a Primus cylinder - this was an easy swap out. The deadbolt looks great and was very easy to install. The screws lines up perfectly and in a few short minutes I had a new deadbolt on the door that was stylish and more secure!My only “con” is that I wish the back trim was a bit bigger. I thought the lock itself would be the same size as the Schlage B90 with no trim, but it is actually smaller, making the area that the back trim covers smaller than I thought (which means some remnant of my old deadbolt that was larger can still be seen). Still, it looks great and is a good lock!

Très content de mon achat ! C'était pour remplacer une serrure double cylindre de marque Weiser qui commençait à défaillir. Cette serrure Schlage est fournie avec tout ce qu'il fallait pour un remplacement facile sans avoir besoin de modifier ma porte. L'extrémité du pen peut être changée en fonction de la porte: plaque rectangulaire, ou couronne circulaire. Le diamètre des deux modules à clés est le même que la Weiser, donc il n'y a aucune trace de visible sur la porte après ce changement. Livré avec 2 clés.
