Fearless: A Thrilling, Enemies-to-Lovers Romance

I liked it
It was an enemies-to-lovers ish, protective bodyguard romance. It could’ve used a looooot more tension between the H and h, but it was pretty steamy anyway, so I didn’t mind it lol.The epilogue takes place when Blake is 16 years old, and Hutch is 21. Her dad just died and her mother prefers to drink her breakfast instead of taking care of her daughters. Hutch, who just got out of the military, keeps trying to look out for her, so he suggests for her to go to a religious school so she stays out of trouble. The problem is that her stepdad is abusive towards her younger sister.Eight years later, Blake is now 23/4 and comes across her friends dead body and she doesn’t think it was su!cide like everyone else thinks. At the same time, she gets a letter from her great uncle Hugh to go visit him. Her younger sister, Hana, needs to get away from the city life so she can recover from her addictions, so off to visit their uncle they go.When they get to his residence, she encounters her enemy from the past, Hutch, Except that now he’s a private investigator, and he knows a lot of dirt about people. He now is the father figure of his niece who lost her mother (his sister) to cancer. Mysteriously, Blake’s great uncle has also disappeared, and now they need to figure out where happen not only to him, but also to her dear friend.Of course, there’s tension between them. She doesn’t forgive him for making her mother send her away all those years ago, so she sees him as her enemy, but he doesn’t. In fact, he’s been saving her photo shoot spreads from her past modeling gigs and… um… self-soothing with them 🙃😉The first 🔥scene is when she walks in on him taking a shower… and he grunts her name 🥵 (16%). It’s almost like the dam broke, because by 26% they go all the way. I love when the H is all about his h, and he can’t help but want to consume her 💦😅. On Blake’s end, it must be nice to be able to O by just nippl€ stimulation (good thing Hutch is obsessed with her b00bs). There are lots and lots of smexxy times- don’t mind me; I’m just sitting here enjoying the view… I mean, the pages lol. Shoot, even the epilogue has smexxy times 😅👀. These two are insatiable- just the way I like it 💅.Would I call this a true enemies to lovers? Not really. Once it takes place in the present time, they quickly move on from the enemies phase to the f buddy phased lol. Although it’s labeled as “thrilling,” I wouldn’t call this too suspenseful since the main mystery isn’t centered around the MCs.I also found a few things a little off or maybe needed more development/explanation (the video blackmailing stuff and even the detail on her friend’s death). I also found myself scratching my head at some of the things Hutch’s 11 year-old niece would say. I have an 11 year-old niece and I kept comparing her to Pepper. I felt like she read a little young. But hey, it’s fictions, so no biggie lol.Overall, I liked it. The smexy times were 🔥

Interesting cast of characters, good plot, with some humor, danger and intrigue.
Not what I expected but still enjoyed it. So what was I expecting? A mafia hero, but instead the H is a good guy, a former marine and current P.I. who ends up helping the h several ways. These two are old acquaintances. Attracted to each other in their teen years (13 & 16), he knows she is too young and ignores her. Their next encounter (the opening prologue) is at her recently deceased father's services. She is 16 yrs and he is 19 and leaving per his orders in the Marines. Still too young for him, but based on something he witnesses, he convinces her mother to send her away to a boarding school to protect her as he won't be around to look out for her. She believes he did it because he thought she was too wild. His decision has repercussions, because although it kept her protected, it left her younger sister vulnerable to the same danger. This is why she hates him now.Chapter 1 picks up 8 years later as tragedy and black mail send her and her sister from N.Y. back to the hometown founded by her family, where the H and her Uncle live. But the uncle has disappeared leaving no clues, forcing them to work together to try and find him. As things come to light and unexpected guests arrive from N.Y., they realize she and her sister could be in danger and the investigation turns to her black mailers and the people causing her and her sister problems. The rest of the story relates to the investigation and the budding relationship between the H and h. Both have their doubts about the other but it's based on their own insecurities. But they eventually come full circle. With the help of the meddling uncle and good friends, they finally admit their true feelings. There is an interesting cast of characters, including the H's brother and especially the H's business partner who definitely has a story of his own. He takes an interest in the h's sister who also has a troubled past. These are two unlikely characters, but they work. Looking forward to their story next.

Fearless
Blake and Hutch’s story starts way before they’re adults. He’s known her since she was a kid, he being 5 years older then her always decided he needed to look out for her - and even when she didn’t want or know that he was trying to keep her safe. Blake, being from a rich family wasn’t always privy to knowledge of comings and going’s in her own household. But as she got older, and after her father has died, she knew she had to do what she needed to to protect her and her sister. Fast forward to present day and Hutch is hired by her uncle to keep her and her sister safe from nefarious men that are willing to kill to protect their business. Will Hutch be able to get to the bottom of the deceit and protect Blake and her sister?Grabs you from the first page, this book is full of suspense and drama that keeps you turning the pages quickly! I loved everything about it!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Blake and Hutch are meant to be.
I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers book, a real page turner for me, well written book with drama, a touch of violence, tragedy and plenty of heat. Also liked the fact it’s from both characters pov, always down for knowing what both characters are thinking. A sweet ending to their story but the unresolved mystery is a good segway to Hanas story, who has suffered so much and also deserves a hea.
