The reason is the palm swell creates a hot spot on my thigh when I pocket carry. I'm trying to find an alternate method of carrying because i really like these grips! The Hogue grips protects my finger from being banged up by the trigger guard and the palm swells fills my hand better. I followed the instructions to the letter and it made for an easy installation. You must make sure the roll pin is centered on the frame or else you will end up with a gap.
