Photonic Screwdriver
The Q2 is definitely my favorite of the SOG Baton series. I also own the Q3, which I had high hopes for, but found the Q3 to be bulkier than I expected, and also had the problem of the handle sliding down onto the pliers when you try to use them (Q1 and Q4 have the same problem). But the Q2 is GREAT. I admit, one of the things that attracted me to it, is that it looks a bit like a sonic screwdriver from Doctor Who. Since it has a light, and literally IS a screwdriver, I reckon you could call it a photonic screwdriver! I really like the look of it closed, with the gear pivot. The light is decent, I love that it takes a common AAA battery. Twist to turn on. If you twist it just shy of "on," you can do momentary on/off by pressing your thumb against the side of the bezel. The screwdriver/bottle opener works well, and makes a satisfying "click" when you open and close it. The knife is a decent usable size, keeps an edge. With practice you can deploy and close the knife one-handed pretty quickly. Most people will not realize this is a knife, either. And if you hand it to them, it will take most a while to figure out how to open it. I have a lot of fun fidgeting with the Q2, opening and closing it, flipping it in the air, twirling it in my fingers. It is currently the tool I carry the most, and I definitely use it on a daily basis. I like it so much, when I thought I lost it, I had to immediately get another one. Then I found the old one! Keeping the new one as a backup, though. I love the Q2!

Quality and compact
Great handy tool to carry around daily. Sharp and nice size blade. Bright fkashlite and battery life is good. Well built and sturdy. I thought I'd want a phillips screw driver instead of the flathead it comes with. But I've found that it works on phillips head just as nice. I've been carrying it in my back pants pocket and using it every day for 6 months now. And is as tight and works like the day I received it.

Great Overall Tool, One Slight Drawback
This tool is perfect for carrying around in my day bag or even in my pocket while at work. I purchased this tool after looking at a few multi-bit driver multi tools. I ended up going with the SOG because it’s a reliable name, it has a ratcheting bit driver, and it comes with the largest selection of bits from the ones I looked at. This tool fit the niche I needed it for; I work in an office as an IT assistant and am often times needing a knife to open boxes, or needing a screwdriver for opening up computers to replace hard drives, RAM, and the likes. The multitude of bit drivers are helpful for unscrewing small pc parts, and the small knife is perfect for opening boxes. The only drawback to this item that I’ve found is the pliers. The pliers themselves are really good quality and work great, until you have something to grip that is wider than about a half inch. I’m not sure if anyone else has mentioned this, but at that point, the handles tend to slide up on one or both sides. Perfectly fine for small bolts or stripping wires, but if you’re trying to hold on to something tightly, having handles slide up on you can ruin your grip. Overall, this was a fantastic purchase, and I would absolutely buy another one. This would make a great gift for a son’s birthday or for Father’s Day. The only thing I would change is possibly adding a locking mechanism on the handles to keep them from sliding too easily.

Amazing magical item straight from the forge of the gods no doubt
If you needed to hold a flashlight and a knife in one hand, there was basically one option on this Earth. This marvelous tool has been discontinued, and so that must now be updated to NONE. So this is the only option for anyone needing to power a battery operated radio and having to open the battery pack while standing amidst waters, and that option has now been lost to history. So good luck fellow basement dwellers. Good Luck. If your basement where you dwell fills with water as it sometimes may and you need to listen to some talk radio before you leave, you're basically going to have to just give up on car talk until you can see the light because we all know how hard it is to open a package of batteries by hand. I'm sorry. I bought the last one. Also: what if you need to cut cheese in a power outage? What if you want to cut string off of your clothing while simultaneously blinding a friend? What if you forget your EDC? What if your flashlight is too big to fit in your pocket? What if you don't have teeth that you feel are strong enough to hold either the flashlight or the knife? You will have to choose, as I've previously mentioned, I have acquired the last of these fabled artifacts, however I will be glad to share it with you for a considerable markup.

Simple functionality, superior workmanship trusted brand
Pen, scissors, standard screwdriver with bottle cap lifter all in one simple compact package. First of all, its a SOG!! I have several tools from SOG and this is the newest addition. I previously overlooked the baton but lately I've been carrying less and less adapting a minimalist lifestyle. So naturally I was drawn to this. I use a pen and scissors from my Swiss Army Knife on a daily basis. I liked the simple opening of the Q1 as opposed to the SAK. There are a few negative reviews with regards to closing this baton. Some have complained that the scissors simply won't stow correctly. Really?!? It couldn't be more simpler. There are two little lines on the hing that must be lined up on order to slide the two halves together. Some have complained that it's too difficult. The motion is like hyperextending an elbow joint until it locks into place. Then you slide the halves together. Perfect for light duty cutting. Cut thru a credit card, small zip ties, price tags, etc. Extremely satisfied.

Wears out quickly
I like the form factor, but the handles of the pliers wore out fast. Now if I try to use the pliers the handles slide forward making them unable to close. This took less than a year to happen.

The SOG Baton Q3 is great for EDC, but is a little bit heavy and the pliers is awkward to hold even for tightening of small nuts. Side tools are a little bit hard to open, but he plus side it has lock and comfortable to hold due to its long handle. Overall I give for stars easy carry w/ pocket clip.
