I actually use the old version of these, with a more heavily domed handle space so upgrading to the new version with the revised shape was quite interesting in terms of being able to compare. The old version was comfortable to hold as the dome was a very ergonomic fit into my palm. After 6 months use though the pink one (not shown in my pics) had the spikes detach from the domed handle and couldn't be reattached. This new version seems to have improved on that significantly as it's all formed in a single unit with no empty space to fill up with soap scum and water, and nothing to fall apart. The ergonomic dome has gone, but even the flat palm area is still easy enough to use as the silicone wrap is soft to the touch. The spikes are comfortable on the scalp as they have quite a bit of flex so they don't scratch but are still firm enough to work through thick hair.

I kept seeing these things and thought I'd get in on the action but wasn't sure really what they were for cos you just scratch your scalp with your fingernails if you have them when washing your hair don't you? Well, if you live somewhere with dreadfully hard water like me where you can't actually get a lather up until the third shampooing then these are for you! I've been a convert to shampoo/shower gel bars for ages now but it takes so much bar up to lather my hair it drives me nuts. Now with this 'gadget' it's like I've painted the Cistene Chapel! Rub hair with bar, use this to squiggle about on your scalp and not only does it get any scurf off your scalp but it also gives you a bit of a massage which feels a bit like one of those weird things that look like a whisk you put on your head but it also gives you way more lather! Oh heavens of joy! We are a 3 person household and the other 2 haven't gone no plastic yet, mores the pity, but I asked for their review from using with wet shampoo and they said the same. Definitely more lather first shampoo. So not only is it ridding my scalp of squit built up between shampoos it is also using less of my shampoo bar to get a lather up to clean it. Win win. Cheap item. Silicone by design. So easy to use and store. Absolutely love it! 5/5
