Very helpful resource for building resiliancy and healing trauma.
A wealth of tools, processes, resources, discussions, checklists, and guidance for teachers, school counselors, administrators and even homeschool teachers like me. After some particularly traumatic experiences my family went through, I began searching for resources on building and supporting resiliency in my kids, and came across this book.Though the book is clearly written with an (industrial model) school classroom in mind, I was also able to adapt a lot of really useful material for my own homeschool. This is not simply a how-to or academic resource, though there is plenty of that. The personal stories from educators and school staff made the book more readable and enjoyable. It was through the thoughtful stories of other educators that I was able to identify with so many perspectives on trauma, how it affects our ability to learn, socialize and relate, in our youth and into adulthood.I pleasantly found this book to be more useful than I expected. Thanks for reading. I hope this review is helpful!
