Not a bad little tool
This piston stop has a tendency to scratch or mar the piston. I used a wrap of cloth electrical tape to fix that problem. No issues.

Do not buy this product!
I installed this product on my lt1 motor, the long pin broke in half and got stuck in the cylinder head, i had to remove the engine head to get to the broken bolt. Do not buy as it is fragile and prone to cease up when using the tool.

Wrong size tool.
I guess it would work if I had a 14mm spark plug opening. My ford mustang 289 engine requires a 18 mm tool.

Not a precision piece
The center adjusting bolt is a little too thin.When the inner bolt is extended towards the piston, it is sloppy inside the outer sleeve. It can move around approx 1/16 of an inch at the tip. That much play will not allow for a true contact / stopping point and can make finding TDC a challenge.

Works ok, threads could be longer
Bought this to check TDC on my 347 ford Windsor. Victor jr heads have long thread plugs and it would be nice if these threads were about twice as long to spread load over the full length of threads. The inner rod fits the base, but threads are not as tight as they could be. I screwed the shaft as far in as it would go and achieved pretty decent stiffness. Pics show the tool completely installed along with the two timing marks made with black marker on yellow masking tape. With tool fully installed found the stop about 20 degrees before and after, showing proof my TDC mark was right on target. Overall works well.
