Great information and structure -- NO PIN for additional resources provided
I am currently in a MS in Telecom/Network Engr program. I have a telecom background not much networking. Have only had it for a couple days and this is helping me get up to speed in my routing and switching course.I thoroughly check all shipping boxes, items, plastic wrap, and pages in the book. I did not receive a PIN with the order to access the additional exams, flash cards, etc promised in the description and the back of the book. SO that is a little frustrating and disappointing.========================================================================================UPDATE:Contacted Wiley:- requested live chat:> filled out fake information about institution, etc (since it required it)> got to agent> mentioned I needed a PIN --> they requested screen shot of completed order/invoice> gave link to fill out for PIN --> PIN sent to email in a few minutes

Helped me pass ICND1!
I tried the other popular book for CCNA, but found it so dry that I could not stay focused on it. Bought this and passed ICND1 a few months later on my first attempt! Mr. Lammle takes a rather boring subject to read about and makes it readable and learnable. I am now working on ICND2 with this book and expect to pass that as well!If you do buy this, send an email to jim 'at' lammle 'dot' com with a copy of your invoice and he will send you a bunch of packet tracer labs, which greatly enhance your studies. Everyone learns differently, but I found this book to be the key to my passing the ICND1 and becoming CCENT certified!

Engaging way to learn or review the CCNA subject matter.
This book tackles the subject matter extremely well, without becoming dry or repetitive. Reading a technical manual of this scope is almost always daunting, however Mr. Lammle keeps it interesting by using different learning techniques (His chapter on Easy Subnetting is the Best) and follows each chapter with engaging real world labs.

Great book, but check for damage before diving in.
2019-05-20: Book is great, but the binding was lightly damaged. It looks like at processing somewhere, because the box is okay. I would have replaced but I don't have the time for that right now and would rather get to reading. Reviewing so far, the content seems worth the price.

The book was term used but it's basically new. I appreciate the seller, not just one book but two awesome books. Am so happy.

Best CCNA Prep material I have found.
Best study material I have found for the CCNA Preparation for my learning style. I love the way that Todd Lammie organized and presented the materials. I'm gaining a deep understanding of the material. Not just taking practice exams until I can pass the real one.

Great information, pretty rough around the edges.
Lots of good info in this book, but it's worded pretty badly. Saying a broadcast domain is "delimited" by hardware or referring to the "balance" of a MAC address, while proper English, will only make the content of this book more confusing than it needs to be to newcomers. It's obvious Mr. Lammle is very knowledgeable, but he isn't a great teacher. Also, the quizzes seem artificially difficult because some questions are from content in a later chapter. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not, but it can be discouraging to come across a question on content you never studied for. I feel like I missed some critical information, but actually it isn't covered until the next chapter.Another problem I have is with the online content provided with this book. The online quizzes are the same ones you'll find in the book and the "flashcards" are online only. Non-printable flashcards are pretty useless to me, unfortunately. The Sybex website is pretty bad overall. Sometimes, the content won't even bother to load! I did appreciate the digital copies of the book, however.I've been using this book in conjunction with other resources and it's been working out fine. The information is correct, but sometimes worded strangely. Overall, I don't feel like I wasted my money on this book. The content is there, the Labs (both written and hands on) are extremely useful, and the digital versions are a nice toss-in. I feel like this book would have benefited greatly from a bit more time with QA.
