Do you need the side tank?

It is a convenient accessory to have as it will extend the time between the need to refill the icemaker to produce more "good ice" but is not required. We are glad you checked with us. Our GE Profile Opal 1.0 has failed. Will the side tank for it connect to the Opal 2.0? I don't care about it matching. Just if it works.

Not sure but when the factory one breaks he will send you a link to buy a new one. Instead of warranty replacing their defective junk! Do NOT BUY
