Masterful - in gameplay, storytelling, music and presentation
In short: I can't recommend this game enough (Played on XBOX Series X). Engaging, with great gameplay, awesome animation and visuals, tremendous voice work (both powerful and moving when needed), and a storyline which can't help but move you (I don't often shed a tear due to a videogame storyline - Splinter Cell: Conviction and Bioshock: Infinite notwithstanding).Superb assets (amazingly high res textures), with brilliant animation, and a wonderfully modelled and lit world make it all feel superbly real (of course, I'm sure, like all games, the visuals will become less comparable over time as technology progresses). The gameplay is tight, feeling fully in control (occasionally, you may need to re-aim if the game has decided to "lock" you onto one of two targets in close proximity, but this is very rare) of the characters, with an excellent feeling that your companions are with you, but not getting in the way, or breaking the world's rules by being spotted/acting erratically. As before, the feeling of a duty of protection is paramount here, and it's dialled up from the first game, with Amicia's desire to protect her brother and find help a primary driving force in the story, and truly speaks to anyone who cares for a child, or is an older sibling. The box asks what will Amicia give - this is a massive point of discussion throughout the game; killing is not treated lightly, and the weight of the balances of morality and protecting loved ones will show throughout the game. The characters feel well written, and the consequences of your actions may be questioned (There are three ways to approach the game - either by non-lethal stealth, alchemy, or aggression - these will be counted up at the end of each area and count toward character upgrades relative to your chosen approach). The story is long and deep, and relates to genuine historical events, adding it to its own mythology, taking the player to amazing places, and on an rather emotional journey. The voice work for the characters is excellent, especially that of Amicia, which was nominated for several game awards IIRC - truly deserving, and very moving in the right places. Asobo have really managed to make Amicia and Hugo more relatable, and Hugo more lovable in the game. The game also features some collectibles in the form of "memories" - a small animation and/or conversation when finding the right item, where characters take stock of the world, or simply take a moment to enjoy some hard-earned childlike fun.Overall, there are some minor flaws (like the predecessor), but this is a truly wonderful game, pushing the consoles hard and making you forget you're playing a game but instead controlling a story. Storytelling at its best, and if you enjoyed the first one (and are willing to forgive any teeny issues you find), then this is a mandatory game for you - you won't regret it, just play it like the first game - take it all at face value, and let the game pull you in.

A great game
Beautiful graphic meets an interesting storyline and a weak-made gameplay. The game is located in the Middle age and narrates the story of three siblings having to face plague and hordes of rats around multiple location.

Beautiful but frustrating - not for everyone
This is a beautiful game. But for the lush visuals, I'd have abandoned it much earlier than I did.The lush visuals didn't compensate for the endless frustration for this gamer. I played through and completed 'Plague Tale: Innocence' on the Xbox One. It was gorgeous and bracingly original enough to make it worthwhile learning its crafty ways. It's a different story with 'Requiem'. The game-makers have doubled down on everything and - for me - curdled the milk in the process. The dialogue has tipped from heartfelt and harrowing into an endless, breathless, monotonous whinge. The gameplay is heavily reliant on artificially boxed-in environments and puzzles that can't be worked out without repeated deaths.Considering how important smooth movement and timing are here, the controls are remarkably sludgy. And don't get me started on the number of times I've been bludgeoned to death because I couldn't step over a knee-high fence that happened not to be a permitted access point.I'll concede that I might be the problem here: I prefer to go heavier on action and lighter on puzzles. As a reference point, 'Jedi: Fallen Order' and 'Jedi: Survivor' are at my action/puzzle sweet-spot.Just make sure you've got a high tolerance for repetition and frustration before you invest.

Awesome game
Great follow up to the original and improves in every aspect. With 60fps recently added via an update. Simply one of the best game releases in recent times.

GAME OF THE YEAR!
I played the first one so this second part of the game is even better. Great story line and definitely draws you in. At the end of the game I was crying. Highly highly recommend!I would absolutely recommend getting an update after you install it because the game is glitching but once I updated the game there was no problem at all.

Didn't live up to expectations
A reasonable game. Not great, not brilliant, just reasonable. I was a bit disappointed in the game play and found it tedious at times. Visually not too shabby but lacking in every other department. But for £17 I shouldn't really complain.
