Easy To Use Glazing
Sarco Dual Glaze putty is easy to use. It provides plenty of working time to perfect your glaze finish. I highly recommend completing the work with whiting powder. I found I was able to further smooth the surface of the glaze and easily clean the glass. While the product (and whiting) are not cheap they are high quality. If you want to work with the best work with Sarco putty.

The best!!
I am reglazing about 1 million windows on our 100 year old house. I started off by using the glazing both tube and tub that it is available at big box stores. Both had pros and cons. But I wish I had discovered this in the first place it is so much easier to work with and mold and trim and keep nice and neat! I would recommend using it in the shade or during cooler hours because it warms up and gets very tacky in the sun or when it’s very warm out. I also used it with whiting powder, which I found to be essential!! The powder allows you to make it less tacky kind of like when you’re using flour and dough. 100% get this and not the stuff available in big box stores!!

Buy Whiting!
This is fine glazing putty. But the container says that it’s ready to use. It’s not, at least my container was far too wet, and stuck to everything, except itself. Take a golf ball-sized glob and drop it into the whiting. Its like adding flour to dough thats too wet. Knead until mixed, and then drop back into the whiting. I had to do this 4–6 times until I had a ball that stuck to itself and not my tools. Then I could use a putty knife to push it into the grazing rabbit.

Excellent
High quality product. Was fresh, not separated or stiff. Went on well, cured as expected.

Best glaze putty brand, period
Sarco makes what is arguably the best glazing products available. I work professional with older and historic structures and bought this and a quart of the type M to restore about 40 different window panes. Some windows could not be removed from the structure and needed to be glazed in place, others could be removed and put in a workshop. This product was used in the workshop because it needs a little longer to cure but develops an excellent glaze. Since it's linseed oil based it's incredibly simple to add compatible products to restore windows. Remove loose paint, repair damaged wood with a quality linseed oil based putty, prep wood with boiled linseed oil overnight, use oil based exterior-appropriate primers, and paint with the best quality exterior paints. I've personally seen Sarco compared side by side with the two other popular brands available in big box retailers... this is without a doubt the superior product. Properly applied and maintained, this glaze can last for decades. The cheap junk from big boxes might hold out for a few years, at best, so Sarco will pay for itself the second time you have to reglaze windows and use choice adult word as you scrape the failed junk out and redo all your work. Reglazing in general isn't for the non-handy weekend warrior, this is what you use when you understand that doing the job right the first time will always be worth the cost. (And honestly, this really isn't cost prohibitive, it's not even twice the cost of the junk glaze).Check out some online tutorials about glazing techniques and get one of the Sarco glazing putties. As long as it stays relatively free of dirt and debris you can remove this and keep reworking it until you get it right. Prep is always key, so take the little bit of extra time to set yourself up for success.

Excellent product
Five stars. I was going to return it and use the DAP I bought instead, but after reading the reviews and getting point by point instructions from one of the reviews, I knew this was the product I needed to use. Using mineral spirits to smooth it afterwards was a huge time saver and smooths like butter. Much easier to use than DAP as well which I started with.

Best Glaze on the Market. The Choice of Professionals.
I'm one of those people that over-researches everything to a fault. Why would I spend time researching glaze you might ask yourself. While I can't speak to the shortcomings of my mental process I can speak to my findings and use of this product.I had used the DAP glaze in the past, as this is what you'll find in every hardware store, Home Depot, or Lowes. Unfortunately, it's complete crap and that's about as nicely as I can put it. If you're reading this, you may have already read the reviews for that product and read about the ridiculous curing times, cracking and countless other flaws. So, after scouring the web and user forums, this was the product most consistently recommended by professionals. Let's face it, the people that use these products day in and day out are going to know best. As such I trusted their recommendations and purchased this product and am very happy I did. While this product is quite a bit more expensive that the competition, there is no competition and it's worth every penny. The difference in curing time and quality isn't even comparable. Application was very easy and we were able to paint the glaze within a week of applying it.If you're looking for glaze look no further this is what you should be purchasing I already wasted an hour of my life searching the web for you. You will eventually come to the same conclusion. If the price is putting you off, think about how much time you're going to waste struggling with the cheap stuff and eventually re-applying it anyway. I'm guessing your time is worth more than the 10 extra bucks you'll spend on this product.
