Can the wireless sub and rear speakers connect using the 5ghz wifi band?

Unfortunately, no. The compatible rear speakers (SA-RS3S) and subwoofer (SA-SW3/SA-SW5) of our HT-A7000 don't support a Wi-Fi connection.

Additional information:
The wireless rear speakers and subwoofer connect to the HT-A7000 using an RF channel connection. You can adjust various items related to wireless connection between the speaker system and optional subwoofer/rear speakers by going to the Speaker Settings of our HT-A7000. To minimize interference with other wireless devices, set the RF channel settings of the HT-A7000 to ON- this allows the speaker system to automatically select the better channel for transmission. This is the stronger mode for wireless interference.

Do you have to mount a sound bar under the tv?  can i mount a sound bar above my tv will that make a dramatic difference in sound

Thank you for the inquiry! Install the bar speaker in the same location as your TV. The bar speaker can be installed on a shelf, such as a TV stand, or mounted on a wall. You can install the bar speaker in an empty space in front of the TV or mount the bar speaker on the wall under the TV. We strongly recommend that a qualified professional installs your soundbar on the wall for product protection and safety reasons.

Rookie, sorry. what's the hdmi out for? isn't the path streaming signal to smart tv to sound bar via hdmi? where in the chain goes a blue ray player?

Hi there, the HDMI OUT(TV(eARC/ARC)) is a port that you can connect a TV that has an HDMI input jack with an HDMI cable. The HTA7000 speaker system is compatible with eARC and ARC. ARC is the function that sends TV sound to an AV device such as the speaker system from the TV’s HDMI jack. eARC is an extension of ARC and enables transmission of the object audio and multi-channel LPCM content that cannot be transmitted with ARC. If you are planning to connect the HTA7000 to your TV and Blu-ray player, we recommend having the TV and the player connected to the HTA7000.
