CosplayDiy Women's Dress for Queen Padme Amidala Cosplay

This was a last minute purchase since my other costume didn't arrive in time. After reading through all the reviews and most ppl saying that it runs small and had to be fixed, I ordered a 2xl. I wear a large regularly. But have found that costumes do run small so went two sizes up.After receiving it I tried it on and it literally fell off my body. It was giant, I was swimming it. Too late to order another size, I called a friend and she went to work with some bobby pins and we made it work.It is a beautiful dress, well made, the material is thick and quality. It does come very very wrinkled and took about half an hour of sweating to steam it with my steam gun but it came out looking gorgeous.The complements went on all afternoon... I love the dress and even though it is too large for me I kept it so I can wear it again.There were a lot of complains about it not holding up the girls but I had no issues with it. I went braless and once we pinned the back and sides my girls were in their place. The neck was not pulling, it was very comfortable.Figuring out the arm bands took a long minute.... they did slide down continuously but I found that if I tucked some of the material into the arm bands they stayed up much better.Overall, I loved the dress, it is well made, absolutely beautiful and would totally buy again.

I needed this FAST to wear to an event and it came with time to spare! It's obviously costume quality, but I think it's great value for the price. It's beautiful and I got so many compliments on it! One of the wrist straps came off during the day that I wore it, but I was dancing in it so I think it held up well and the wrist strap should be easy to sew back on. Looking forward to finding a reason to wear it again!

This dress is definitely it. Now granted there are some minor quality issues like loose threads and the neck piece is a little wonky but that was to be expected for the price. I will say that the slip dress underneath the chiffon is comfortable and fit me like a glove. It also has a built in bra which is amazing! My only gripe is that the yellow dye color is a little green toned (you can’t tell from the pictures) which is off from Padmes dress but that is really it. This dress is comfortable, flowy, and makes me feel absolutely beautiful when I wear it. If you don’t want to break the bank and still want to feel like a queen, this is definitely the one.

Gorgeous, incredible, beautiful, and very comfortable. Highly recommended. However, if you actually want it to be wearable, as I did, (and not just for a one-time party) you'll need to make some modifications. I shortened the massive train so it wouldn't drag on the ground. Yeah, spoils the look a bit, but you can't just drag that all over the ground and let it get shredded. It also needed some additional stitching at the key weight bearing points on the arms and neck to reinforce it. You know--where it connects to the silvery neck ornament and arm bands. That sort of thing is quite common, and not really a strike against the dress. Almost anything like this doesn't have strong enough stitching in spots like that. I also needed to remove the arm bands and re-make them because they were too big for my arms, so the dress would slide right down. The arm bands are also not elastic, which is one strike against the dress. Anything worn on the upper arm like that really needs to be elastic. So, I made my own arm bands with some elastic, some velcro, and soft fabric and sewed them on myself. A lot of work and some tricky engineering, but the results were perfect. I'm still giving it a 5-star because it's just such an incredible dress. So beautiful. I've never found anything else like it. But if you want to be able to wear it regularly, then you'll need to be handy with a needle and thread. That's my opinion. Just something to be aware of.

Really beautiful dress! I got a ton of compliments on it. I have chubby arms and had to modify them a bit but it was easy.

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. It’s a great investment, and totally worth the money. It fits amazing, and has padding on the top. It’s super comfortable, and it’s not see through at all. I’m so excited to use it with my boyfriend!!!!
