Not easy to use and it broke after a year
First I have no idea what “sheerness” and “thickness” means in regard to this thing so ignore those stars. This thing kinda sucks. I was all about it at first but it’s just a pain in the ass. You have to tap the perfect spot the perfect hardness to use the touch feature. Also, there’s a bunch of buttons in the back that are kinda hard to press and one of them turns it off. If you just reach back there and press the thing isn’t heavy enough and it just slides so you gotta do a shaq grip on a basketball to press it. Other buttons, idk what they do I think they are for setting it up if you can’t get the app. If these things weren’t used every day it wouldn’t be too but but I promise one morning you’ll get tired of it and practically punch it trying to “touch” the light.Only positive is the app. It’s really nice and easy to use.One thing I don’t like is once you turn off the alarm you have about 10 seconds to get into the app and turn the brightness up before it gets dark again. Whats the point if you wake up and it immediately gets dark again. It also advertises this as 2 minutes but I swear to god it’s 10 seconds.Lastly this thing broke on me in a weird way about a year in (I think I didn’t check the date). One morning it went off 40 minutes before scheduled. I was confused and checked the app and the app confirmed it was set for 40 min later. Set my phone alarm just in case and went back to bed and sure enough it didn’t go off at the right time. After that it just didn’t work. The light still works and I use it as a light at night but the whole sunrise alarm is done for. It’s actually still set in my app lol but nothing happens. No light or sound for the alarm.Overall 2/10. With I could tell ya which one to buy instead but I can’t I just use my phone now

Great product!!!
This clock has all the features you would want in an alarm clock…and more! I’m a big fan of sunrise simulation as it helps me get up in the morning and this clock does just that. I set mine to gradually brighten over half an hour and find that wakes me up gently - however just in case I also set the alarm too. The mood light function is a cool extra if you want to set an ambiance in your room, I sometimes take this into the family room if we have guests over – it goes well with my Philips hue bulbs and the Bluetooth speaker is good quality for playing music. The LightUp app is easy to navigate and makes controlling the clock easy. Overall well worth the money spent.

Not impressed
The touch on this does not work well. You have to hit it pretty hard for it to do anything. I am unable to connect to it via the phone app. I can connect to the Bluetooth to play music but that is all. For the price, I'm pretty disappointed.

Works Great! Auto Set Up w/App! Music Too!
The Beurer 4 in 1 Wake Up Light/Alarm/Music Station is actually very cool, but I do feel it lacks in design. First, all the good things. The app is very easy to use and it will locate your device immediately. No need to use all the buttons to set your clock. Your clock will automatically set once you connect the app to it. You can also set your alarms and radio stations in the same way. All very simple and let's face it, no one wants to use those buttons to set an alarm. Love the music station and the preset stations. That was a pleasant surprise. Your wake up light can also be a moodlight or nightlight. Again, everything is adjustable from the app. You can select solid clots or patterns and the intensity of the light! You can also set a timer to have it go off. Now for the downside. I do feel it is a bit juvenile for me to have in my bedroom. I think this would be great for a teen or tween. However, it does the job and I really love the music station feature. I could easily do without the moodlight/nightlight features in exchange for a lower price point. Overall, I can't say anything negative about the wake up lamp other than design for the price point. I think this would be great gift for many.

Good idea with annoying flaws you may not care about
The concept of a light that mimics sunrise to wake you up is one I like, and this clock will do that. You can use just the light, or you can add an alarm/radio that follows the light. You can easily set it up and control it with a phone app (iOS, Android). Using the buttons on the clock to do the same things is like with most alarm clocks, not rocket science but requires luck, experimentation or the manual. The things I don't like are 1) the radio reception is poor, not good enough to use the radio station I'd prefer. 2) It looks goofy, somehow more than in the photos. 3) You have to reach around to the back of the clock to stop the alarm. 4) The numbers on the clock face look fuzzy. 5) Have to use the phone app to do some things. 6) The audio quality for music isn't very high.Oh, and there's no battery to keep time and settings when the power goes off. Grrr.I don't have the trouble some do using the tap controls. You have to tap firmly on the right spot (shown in the instructions), and I use a two-hand technique, left hand on top holding the clock and tapping with two fingers. These drawbacks don't necessarily mean you won't like this. If you love using your phone, have a strong radio signal, don't mind the look and fuzzy numbers (still easy to read), don't mind reaching around to turn the alarm off (which some people may prefer to wake themselves up), aren't looking for an audiophile clock, and don't have power failures, you might love this.
