I totally enjoyed this book! One could say that he did a lot of name-dropping but I loved it. So interesting to read how these people lived, how they entertained, how they treated others. The focus of entertaining, no matter who it was, was to make the guest comfortable and for them to have enjoyed themselves.Mr. Horchow also had wonderful decorating ideas. Although his friends were often extremely wealthy, it sounded like he and his wife watched their money. His decorating ideas, with this thought of saving money in mind, were very clever.I bought this book used but if I had it to do again, I would have bought it new. Kindness and consideration of others never goes out of style!
