Shade's Lady: A Reapers MC Novella (1001 Dark Nights) Paperback – March 14, 2017

Shade’s Lady is the newest from author Joanna Wylde and is part of her Reapers MC series as well as novella number four of the 2017 1,001 Dark Nights lineup. Now, I’m going to admit that while Ms. Wylde has been on my TBR list for ages, I’ve never read any of her work until now. Man, have I been missing out! This story had so many of my favorite things from a fun and witty heroine to a total alpha male hero to plenty of drama and action. I loved it!The thing with some MC books that I don’t like is the hero crossing the line from being alpha and taking care of what’s his (whether it be their girlfriend, property, or friends) and being protective, crossing the line and just plain being a jerk. I’m here to tell you that this was no the case with swoon-worthy Shade. Shade is the national president of the Reaper MC crew so you may think he’d be over the top with his ego. No way, Jose. This man is everything I love from a rough and tumble alpha male. He looks after everyone he holds close. He’s got a hard exterior with a soft heart I loved seeing. He isn’t much for words, but the words he does say mean so much. Truly, a gem in the MC world! Now, when it comes to Mandy, I’ve gotta say I loved her just as much. She has every reaction to every situation that we all would have. You know how sometimes you’re reading a book and when a crazy moment happens, the heroine reacts anything but normal and you want to reach through the pages and shake her? Yeah, you won’t have any of that with Mandy. I loved her very real outlook at all she’s going through and I loved her personality. She had me laughing and saying “yeah, girl!” so many times while reading. I just adored her! Together these two are a couple I won’t soon forget and I hope to see more of in the future…because I am now HOOKED on Joanna Wylde!I also have to give a shout out to her sister and the officer helping them all out in the craziness their lives turn into. I loved those two and hope we get to see more of them.Whether you’re already a fan of Ms. Wylde’s or a new fan, like myself, I have no doubt you will love this story as much as I did!

Love the Reapers books so I was excited to read this when it released as part of the 1001 Dark Nights series. Joanna Wylde's writing is smart, funny and sexy. I love how Shade goes after Mandy but only claims her when he's sure she's in it all the way. Mandy's had her eye on Shade but didn't make a move because she already had a boyfriend, who was a total loser."When I first met Rebel, I’d teased him about having a crush on Shade because my new boyfriend couldn’t stop talking about the man. Then I’d met Shade in person. Now I got it. Rebel worked hard to make sure everyone knew he was a big, bad biker. Shade didn’t have to work at it. He just was big and bad."Joanna Wylde's MC books are among my favorite stories and this story reminded me why I love her so much. Her women are strong, resilient and tough as nails. Not to mention down-to-earth and self-deprecating. Mandy can't resist the allure of Shade, the President of the Reaper's MC, even though she is conned into being alone with him for the first time."He was the biggest, nastiest bastard in the room—not to mention easy on the eyes—and deep down inside I just knew we’d make beautiful babies together. Too bad I already sort of had a boyfriend… Shade was so potent we’d probably have quintuplets or something crazy on the first try. You don’t even want a baby, I reminded my quivering ovaries. Jump him! Jump him and ride him like a cowgirl! they snapped back. Just think how sexy and strong he is. His sperm could kick Rebel’s ass and you know it!"Shade is NOT looking for an "old lady," or even anything more than a one night stand. He makes this very clear to Mandy. Which is fine with her, because she has had nothing but rotten luck with her previous boyfriends."Girls wanted flowers and roses and forever. I wanted the road under my tires and something new on the horizon. Never understood why so many of my brothers were willing to settle down in one place. I wasn’t that guy. Never had been. Never would be."There's lots of action and lots of steamy, dirty scenes and just lots of fun in this story. I adore Joanna Wylde and this story satisfied my craving for her MC stories. Loved visiting with the Reapers MC again. 'Shade's Lady' was a witty, funny, sexy and fast read. Highly recommend for all fans of MC romance."I’d never been much of a believer, but in that moment I saw Heaven and it was glorious."

Noch besser würde es mir gefallen wenn ich endlich das komplette Buch, d.h. MIT dem Epilog bekommen könnte. Ich hab schon mehrfach über die Hilfeseite Hilfe gesucht aber bisher nicht bekommen

Another brilliant read from Joanna Wilde tho I should only give you 4 stars for being so short and the abrupt ending I wanted more from Shade and Mandy and more from the other Reapers I love that MC they're crazyI love the way Mandy is strong woman Shade needs someone who won't let them walk all over them and I love that Shade respects Mandy for the woman she is and the way the others treat herHannah is great would love for you to do a little piece about them and how they got to Violetta brilliant read

The one thing that all heroines in this universe seem to share is that they have gumption! They are all real ladies, not too prissy or perfect and each has faults. But they have to have a certain level of confidence to stand up to an outlaw biker, and this is usually what attracts the hero to them.Mandy has had a rough life so far but she gave up everything to support her sister and three little nieces going through a rough time. This pretty much nominates her to knighthood in my opinion, since she doesn't even have a bed to sleep in as a result!Shade has the patience of a Saint! It surprised me how much of a "good guy" he is considering his office, but I guess you need to have a fair amount of patience and diplomacy to be the big honcho. I wish we could have explored his character more but you can only do so much in a novella. Hopefully, these characters will show up again in future books.I love how the author weaved together the subplots and new cast of characters that Mandy brought with her. From her boss "Bone" to her family and the Sheriff's Deputy her sister starts dating, I didn't feel at that the story was lacking due to a smaller word count. It only became obvious in the club world. The only Club characters that really get introduced, besides Shade, are Dopey and his Old Lady.This struck me as weird, since Shade supposedly has two brothers assigned to him at all times, in a bodyguard capacity. But we are only ever introduced to one. It would have made a lot more sense to me to either add on a couple of pages every few chapters to give Muscle #2 a storyline or to just write him out completely.
