My kids love these! They are great for critical thinking skills and problem solving exercises, and a lot of fun for kids of all ages (get the right level for your child).

Fantastic! Much more than critical thinking alone!
This is a great product that teaches many different things, not just deductive reasoning skills, AND my kid loves it! I'm going through these with my 5 year old... I should have started at level 1 but after about 10 of these now, he's just about got it with only an occasional clue on my behalf. He loves the satisfaction of having figured it out himself. The last one, as an example, spoke of different types of fruit, how many syllables each type of fruit had in it's name, and on top of that I was a great springboard for reiterating a teaching on name prefixes such as Mr. and Ms. The authors purposely work these things into the lessons making it multifaceted learning. Highly recommend it and will buy more of their products!

A little easy but a good exercise
I got these for my kiddos for some critical thinking practice for homeschool. I got level 2 for my 4th grade and it's pretty easy for him, but still good practice, I believe. I plan on getting the next level for him when he finishes this book. I haven't found any problems with it so far and he's completed over half of the pages.

Provides a good introduction to logical thinking for children
The book consists of 42 activities. They are presented in a square matrix with clues underneath. For example the easiest activity would consist of a 3x3 matrix with a picture of a family by each row, and various pets above each column. Underneath would be clues that a child would use to match the correct pet to the correct family member. Instructions and answer sheets are given. The book progresses from easy to harder, although it is still appropriate for the grade level (1st/2nd) indicated. It is a good introduction to logic and reasoning skills for children. It is the kind of book that is fun for kids to do in short doses, after a while the puzzles seem very similar, so you would not want to do it all in one sitting. I am happy with this purchase.

Great intro to logic problems
My 2nd grader and kindergartner have both enjoyed this book. A good intro to logic problems. Now that they have the hang of it, they are saying that some problems are too easy for them. They still enjoy it, though.

Great source of brain work!
I enjoyed using book #1 with my kdg class when I was teaching and used it with my 5yo granddaughter who loved it. We’re now starting this one for even more challenges! Good thing to have when it’s “shelter in place” time! Btw, I use it with a plastic overlay and dry erase marker so it can be used again. Definitely a thumbs up!

Another quality product by critical thinking.
Doing 2 pages a day, my son zooms through these books! Really enjoys the challenge and I enjoy the challenge when I make sure they are correct. They do have answers in the back in case we get stuck. My son is a rising 3rd grader but these should be doable for a 2nd grader. We got stuck on 1 puzzle which assumed prior knowledge of scoring in basketball. After I explained that by stating that the girl made the shot they were implying that she scored 2 points as that was the amount a shot is worth, he immediately asked me how some of the scores were odd numbers! Quick math thinking! Then I explained it can be 2 or 3 points. Other than that 1 example all of the problems were based on common knowledge (basketball scoring is probably common knowledge too and I am glad for the opportunity to have let him know so he won't get lost if the subject comes up with his friends). We homeschool and this was a fun break from other types of lessons that we do.
