Won't make your nose itch
I bought this specific subwoofer because it would fit underneath a seat in my Bayliner 175 boat. No, this sub will not make your nose itch but it adds some good bass to my boat which I didn't have before and happy with my purchase so far. It wasn't a terribly difficult install but with this being a boat, there were not a lot of cable routing options and that was the biggest challenge. I had purchased the Rockville RWK10 10 Gauge Amp Installation Kit separately but ended up having to run around town anyway because most of the wires in that kit were not long enough for my application (for a boat). I like the fact that the sub turns on and off with my head unit power. I'm glad I could find an under seat solution and just as happy with the added bass with a little thump.

Great sound enhancement and fantastic calue
Installed in a 2005 Chevy Colorado with a Sony xav-602BT face unit. The install was very simple (I watched a few online videos because I’ve never done it before) and it took about 1.5 hours. The sound was super crisp and clear with some pretty serious “thump”. It fit under the back seat just fine with another 2” or so to spare. Seriously, I am so impressed with the sound and for the price… 5 stars for me, I would buy again for sure. Rockville puts out a great value product.

COULD BE A HUGE PLUS
Was heavily packed and had reasonably easy to follow instructions. The wire connections need an odd size small torx bit with all the connections being made on what will be the rear of the unit for me, meaning all wire must be a foot longer to allow rotating the unit once it is wired. If you are adding this you need to pull out a lot of stuff as opposed to installing with every connection accessible. I like the variable freq. adjustment and the phase control. When I get it fired up I will return with another review noting how it compliments the $1600. of other components.

It's not spl comp grade but for the price pretty good.
Got a good amount of bump for a single 8 inch. It's not going to pull 170 dB but it's got a good overall quality. So by the time you got a amp kit( 8 awg is the recommended one and as big as your going to get in ) you got say $150 in it.So if you bought a cheap amp +subwoofer +box , you'll have more in everything than what you've got in this rockville. It's got excellent build quality and easy to adjust Phillips turn screws.Very happy for the ten min I played with it before permanently installing it.

Don’t do it!
The sub came well packaged and has a clean look. I installed it in my CJ and was impressed with the sound initially. A couple days later, the sub quit putting out any sound. The power light was on, amp was not in protect, and there was no output through the sub. I rechecked all my connections and wiring and still nothing. I removed the sub and put in an old amp and speaker setup in it’s place. Everything worked fine so I’ll just stick with what works. Returned sub and my refund is pending.

Great sound for the price
*3 MONTH UPDATE*The sub was great at first, but has begun cutting out randomly. It's not going into protect mode, so I'm assuming maybe a voice coil wire is coming loose or something. It coincided with running the gain up pretty high, but I would think a powered sub should survive anywhere in its amp's operating range. Reduced to 3 stars. You might have better luck at a lower gain setting and light use.I bought this sub with the intention of filling in the low end of my audio system in my 99 Suburban. I was really just looking for something that would allow me to tune the bass out of my door speakers in order for them to sound less muddy. I'm not an audiophile, but I do enjoy my music. This sub served my purpose well. So far it sounds great. It's not a heavy hitter, but if you're just looking to bring a little low end to a factory sound system that's lacking, this is a good bet. It has high level and low level inputs which seems pretty common on these powered woofers. I'm using low level from my Pioneer double din. Time will tell, but for it's size and slim profile it does great. Mounted it under my second row seats. The remote gain control is another nice feature.

Decent sound in a small sub
Fits well under the passengers seat in a 2013 Toyota Corolla. I wanted to fit it under the driver's side but the yaw sensor was in the way and I didn't want to remount it. It's a good balance between nice bass and I can still tune it down for when the child is in the car. I haven't noticed any clipping or dropout. Installed super easy off a Kenwood deck. I'm not an audiophile but I am a musician and the clarity is quite good above 70-80 hz. The lower ends get a little muddy but the lpf works a treat if you'd rather clear sound than rumbles.

Economical Way to Add Lower End Punch to Your Music
I am leasing a truck, a 2018 Ram 1500, with the stock 6 speaker stereo system. I was looking to add some lower end bass notes to my ride but since I'm leasing I didn't want to radically alter the vehicle or spend big bucks on it. The Rockville powered sub was just the ticket.I had Best Buy Geek squad install it behind my back seat. Now I can hear the entire sound spectrum of each song. I'm hearing bass notes in favorite songs I've never heard before. This powered sub will not give you teeth rattling BOOM BOOM bass, but it will vibrate the seats and mirrors with bass notes. In other words, it adds a nice bass dimension to your music.
